Hanako this time wanted to meet her students in a less misty area. So she chose to meet them on the hill that overlooks the whole village. It was strangely enough a beautiful sight to see. Even with the fogy mist covering most of it it still had a look of beauty to it. Well it did in Hanako's opinion. As she waited for her students to come she looked out to spot her home which was originally her fathers. Sadly no memories of him popped up in her head today. Maybe that was for the best. Hanako was focused on her job as Jounin sensei. A full team of genin will take a lot of attention.
She had already met one of the students. Mitsuko Subeki, an interesting young man with something on in his family. That wasn't her problem really, but it helps to know about your students. The other two however she didn't know much about. She knew one of them was twenty which made her only four years older then a student. Strange when you're used to teaching those that are normally twelve or thirteen. Oh well not everyone makes it past the chuunin exams.
"They should b e here soon. Hopefully no one will be late...again." She spoke to herself in a soft voice.

Kyomu was, to put it lightly, nervous as hell. He kept wondering what his team would be like, whether or not they would take to him... sure that normally wouldn't have been first amongst his concerns but he'd have to spend a majority of his time over the next few years with whoever he'd drawn out of the hat. He glanced down at the piece of paper he had in his right hand which had on it the names of his team-mates and their Jounin Sensei. Hanako Hayashi. He rolled the name around in his head again, his father hadn't been able to tell him very much about her, they were of different eras after all he supposed. Standing at the foot of the hill he looked up, upon seeing the distant figure already up there he began walking. It was nice being above the mist for a change, there was nothing wrong with it but sunlight was nice too, in short doses... he sure didn't want a repeat of last Summer. Worst. Sunburn. Ever. It hadn't been great going back to the Academy after that, the malicious and continuous shoulder slapping had hurt like a bitch... Of course afterwards he'd used Kori Shinchu to send the main perpetrators wandering around the village for hours on end instead of finding their way home. Boy had he gotten chewed out for that.
On to bigger, better things though. Namely to a team and to some actual missions, sure he was nervous about those too but the village wouldn't throw fresh Genin out into the line of fire... would they? Kyomu swallowed audibly, now standing behind the figure on the hill. 'E-excuse me Miss, s-so sorry to disturb you but you wouldn't happen to be Hayashi-sensei would you?' It wasn't until he had asked that he realised he hadn't given his own name, which was uncharacteristically rude of him. 'Sorry, sorry,' he blurted out in an attempt to excuse his little faux pas. 'My name is Kyomu. Kyomu Kagami and as you can tell I'm a little anxious.' He broke out into a nervous little grin with his head partially lowered so he was only glancing up at her back.
Stop talking you moron, if she is Hayashi then she already knows who you are, you're just making a fool of yourself on the first impression. And first impressions count for a lot! Kyo shuffled his feet waiting for a response, hands clasped behind his back. Now all he needed was for this woman to tell him he'd got the wrong place and hurl him straight back down the hill for interrupting her thoughts. Today was meant to be a good day.

"Try to make a good impression, boy. You'll be with your teammates for quite a while." Ogichi's voice rung in Mitsuko's head as he sat in his bed, staring at his bandaged left hand. It was about time to remove it, he figured. The boy gingerly peeled back the bandaging, peeking meekly at the tattoo and surrounding area. Finding that everything looked okay, he unwrapped the stained bandages and placed them on a counter beside his bed. The ominous black ink on his wrist then became apparent, and reminded the boy of his duty. I guess I do actually have to make a good impression. And to be honest, that was not his forté. It simply wasn't natural for the boy to be comfortable around new people. Then again, most everything Mitsuko had been doing for most of his life was unnatural. So being unnatural was almost...natural to him.
Mitsuko briskly walked out of his house and towards the hill that Hayashi-sensei had dedicated for the meeting. Halfway there, the genin remembered that he left the paper with his new teammates' names on it. While he could double back and go get it, that would likely make him run late. So he would just wing it. Not a good start to the day... He arrived at the top of the hill in time to see a nervous boy grinning and introducing himself. Even for Mitsuko, it seemed obvious the kid was pretty anxious about meeting his new team. Which was understandable, as the Subeki himself was equally apprehensive about meeting Hayashi-sensei. This time though, he wasn't so nervous. In fact, he probably knew his new teammates from before.
The boy shoved his hands in his pockets and gave the boy in front of him a look. He had introduced himself as Kyomu Kagami, which helped, as Mitsuko didn't instantly recognize him. Oh, he's that one...I remember there being a big fuss over his genjutsu scores... The reason he retained that information was that his goal of bringing honor back to his father and family would be seriously hampered if someone was better than him. This could actually be a problem. He mulled over the situation for a bit. This boy, if he continued to show promise, could be a threat to Mitsuko. On a three-man team, there isn't much room for glory, and it was likely to be absorbed by one rather than all three. He would have to make sure to standout, and be specifically better than Kyomu.
They still had to be teammates however, and genjutsu wasn't particularly a showman's kind of move. With a tighter focus in ninjutsu, Mitsuko might be able to be noticed more. It wasn't in his nature to be so competitive, but he had no choice. Personally, he held no ill-will for his newfound teammate, and didn't particularly want or enjoy attention himself. Unfortunately, what had to be done simply had to be done. It seemed Kyomu was addressing his sensei though, so Mitsuko didn't really want to interject. So he decided to lay back and wait for his opportunity to introduce himself, or for Hayashi-sensei to introduce him. He ruffled his powder blue hair and shifted the angle of his headband slightly, waiting for the jounin to answer the young boy. Hopefully she could calm him down, too.

Hanako eyed the boy who walked up to her. He seemed to be a little... nervous might be putting it lightly. He stuttered as he called her miss to get her attention. Strange way for a shinobi to act, but then again some people have different ways to react to meet new people. She listened as the boy said sorry twice before he finally spoke his name and explained he was a little anxious. Right, Hanako could tell this one was gonna need to work on his people skills a bit. "So your my new student. At least you're not late." She couldn't say much to him. Couldn't think of something for that matter.
Still thinking of something else to say Hanako noticed the boy she had already met walking up to them. "On time this meeting, eh." She commented looking at him as he appeared to be in his thoughts. Most likely thinking about normal genin stuff. How much training can they get done, whens the first mission, what are my teammates gonna be like. Those were her thoughts back in the days and she was sure that most kids were the same.
"Well it seems the third isn't here yet, so feel free to chat and get to know each for a bit." She said looking at both of them. "I'm still thinking of what we can do today for our first team meeting." Hanako didn't really count the meeting and training with Mitsuko as the first one. Seeing as it was just her and him. Not much had got done that day, and she had feel that the training could have been done in a better way. Made more interesting or something. Oh well whats done is done.

Kyomu gave a non-committal nod at his new sensei's words along with a hummed affirmative. He couldn't expect her to smile and pat him on the head now could he? She was a ninja, not his mother. As she continued he turned to find Mitsuko standing behind them both lost in himself, he recognised him... vaguely... but having read the team roster he could safely assume his name. So this is Mitsuko Subeki, is it? He's supposed to be some kind of proto-genius come out of a Clan of... well a Clan not like ours. Kyo couldn't even bring himself to think the words 'drop out' it was such a horrible term and one he'd heard from his Clansmen outside his direct family. He hoped he'd never end up that arrogant. Whatever the case his scores on the board were awesome, I didn't beat him in anything other than Genjutsu. To think I'd get someone like that as a team mate.
It wasn't until Hanako spoke again that he realised he'd been staring the other boy down, somewhat vacantly at that. His nerves were making him act uncharacteristically rudely this morning it seemed. He had to try and calm down, but how could he? 'Oh, I didn't see you there,' he said, forcing a grin, 'you must be Subeki-san. I don't know whether you heard, but I'm Kyomu Kagami. Looks like we'll be team mates from now on, I'm looking forward to it.' Putting his left hand in his pocket, he offered Mitsuko his right, until he realised he'd broken into a flop sweat just as soon as he found out that he and Hayashi-sensei hadn't been alone. Quickly he retracted his hand and wiped it off on his top before extending it to his team mate once again. Could have been worse, at least he didn't apoligise again and make a complete ass of himself.
This was bad though, Kyo had hoped that they'd all get there at about the same time, instead he'd have to put himself through 3 separate yet equally daunting and uncomfortable introductions. On top of that it looked like he'd already just about butchered the first two. Well, third times a charm.
Somebody, just kill me now before I make it worse.

Mitsuko snapped from his uncharacteristically analytical train of thought to his sensei, who had addressed him with what he assumed; or hoped, was a jest. It'd be pretty bad if she'd gotten that impression of him, as some kid that doesn't care enough about being a ninja to even show up promptly. He quickly refuted that thought and operated under the assumption that she was being friendly, and nothing more. He'd been thinking too much lately anyway. "'Course. Couldn't make it two in a row." He responded calmly, letting a small grin slip onto his face. It would pay to be friendly with Hayashi-sensei, he figured. Though as for his teammates...that would have to be determined. As for Kyomu, Mitsuko had a feeling they wouldn't be particularly compatible.
The boy also had noticed that they were down a teammate, even before his teacher had pointed it out. It would seem that this group wasn't very good at keeping track of time. Fortunately, it seemed that the jounin was rather merciful and lenient, as she didn't seem to be upset over the third's tardiness, and she had even joked about Mitsuko's prior late arrival. From what he could tell so far, she was calm and patient. What the young Subeki did not like was her suggestion. Chatting wasn't something he frequently did, and he was particularly bad at it in small groups or one-on-one. On top of that he had felt Kyomu's eyes on him for quite some time, and the whole thing was rather unnerving.
Mitsuko's eyes, which had been focused on his teacher while she was speaking, now met with his teammate's for a second. He wasn't too fond of eye contact for whatever reason, and quickly decided to avert his gaze. Finally Kyomu spoke up, with yet another nervous jumble of words. Is he really gonna be like this all the time? I'm just a genin like him and he's STILL stuttering... Mitsuko knew hadn't just run in and excitedly introduce himself either, which likely contributed to Kyomu's anxiety. Once the boy got around to speaking, he gave the basic introduction, as one would expect.
"It's Mitsuko." He said bluntly, as the boy extended his rather sweaty palms to shake Mitsuko's own. He didn't like meeting new people either, but for a genin to be this respectful in the presence of someone of equal rank was strange to say the least. If Kyomu had perhaps been at a lower level than his own, then it might make sense. But he'd topped Mitsuko in genjutsu, which negated the idea of his teammate looking a the Subeki as if he was superior. "I heard. But even before that, I'd heard a lot about you, Kyomu." Adding an honorary suffix would be a bit degrading, he thought, and he did need to establish himself to his teammate early on. He gripped Kyomu's hand and shook it quickly, and then hastily pulled it away. "You're a Kagami, and you've got the top genjutsu score in the class." He elected not to address the comment about them being a team. He wasn't too sure he'd like it. He remained cool in speech, as he was trying to size up this "threat" to his shot at glory, and those words even came out with a bit of attitude and bite to them. As it stood, he had no intention of being friendly with the boy or even working together with him. He had to prove himself superior, even in speech. It was his responsibility to the Subeki and his father.

In a land...of marshmellows and rainbows Akemi stood upon the the peak of ice cream mountain looking upon the river of hot fudge chocolate that cascaded down the slopes. Reaching out, the girl grabbed one of the nearby marshmellow clouds in thought. There was something odd...She just couldn't put her finger on it. Some thing out of place. As if she was forgetting that one little detail right in front of her. She chewed thoughtfully on her fluffy morsel, but still the answer elluded her. Her gaze wandered to the vast land that stretched out before her as her thoughts continued to dig for that small elusive thought. It wouldn't be until her fluffy marshmellow spoke up that she realized what was going on. "Akemi, wake up!" The sound of her brother's voice coming from the marshmellow she was eating caused her to jump in surpise. Jump straight off the mountain, in fact. And instead of the cool ice cream breaking her fall with soft cusioning she was met with a hard surface of unyielding wood flooring.
Evil laughter rang out from seemily every direction and Akemi did her best to put up counter attack. Unfortunately, her toe ended up slamming into the post of her bed since she was still very much blinded by the sudden light that hit her eyes. With a yelp, she picked up her foot trying to nurse away the pain as she hopped on the other. With a true testament to her skills as a ninja, her balance suddenly shifted after landing and the back of her head slammed into what must have been a bookshelf. With a whimper she crumpled onto her butt as tears of pain leaking from her eyes. Finally, to add insult to the injury a book fell on top of her head. A thick book. At that point, she just gave up and stopped moving while her bleary eyes struggled to focus.
Her mind focused as well as her eyes and she shot a glare at her brother, who was still laughing. As if sensing impending doom, he quickly stopped. Only the quickly said words of reminder and his quick escape saved him from Akemi's wrath. That's what she was forgetting. Today was the day she was to meet her team. Her team placement had been delayed because she was teh dead last and her scores went in later than the others. She was a new team at the last moments, they probably didn't even receive a notice themselves yet. Replacing some older genin on the team that was to hold some of the class's prodigies. The thoughts caught up with her and with them came sudden realization. "I'm going to be late!"
The small girl tore though her house like a hurricane; rushing though her morning ritual, grabbing her gear, and quickly scarfing down her food. Then with a slice of toast hanging out of her mouth from what she couldn't eat in a few seconds, she rushed out bidding her family a hasty goodbye. Akemi bursted onto the misty streets and nearly crashed into a few people bustling about. They streets were already becoming slightly crowded as people were readying themselves and their stores for the day. She stalled for a moment before taking to the roof of a nearby shop. The girl grabbed hold of her sword to keep it from falling from its place as she broke out into a full spint. She lunged from roof to roof, driving her body as fast as it would go to the meeting spot.
The sheer excitement was beginning to kick in. The first meeting with their sensei. Akemi was pretty sure the jounin was a woman too. A fellow kunoichi of the mist and Akemi would get learn from her. Maybe they'd even have a mission today. Kicking bandit butt or defeating a monster plaguing a lesser village nearby. The possibilities were endless! She hoped that she'd get along good with the other two as well. They were suppose to be top of the class genin. "Hopefully, they aren't jerks or anything," Akemi thought to herself. She'd hate to be on bad terms with them since they'd be on missions together and the like.
Akemi could faintly make out three vague figures as she got closer to the hill, but the fog kept any real detail from being revealed. However, the houses line stopped a ways before that. She could probably close most of the distances with a good jump though. So without thinking twice or even at all for that matter, she pushed her legs faster and pushed off from the end of the last roof. "HHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYY~!" With a long drawn out cry, she flew through the air heading toward her teammates. The girl even shifted her center of gravity to get the most hang time which made it seem as if she was doing a showy flip. She broke what could have been a heavy fall, hitting the ground and tumbling forward in a roll. She rolled straight into a stand and bowed to her team before looking up with a bright smile.
"Akemi Izayoi, future weapon master, reporting for duty Ma'am!" She spoke loudly.

Hanako had no comment for the sudden and flashy appearance of this young girl. A strange thing she was. Too skinny. This can't possibly be the genin we're waiting for. Damnit did they switch the roster on me again! Hanako looked over the girl. She had a forehead protector on her neck so she was a young kunoichi. No doubt a genin and without any doubt in her mind Hanako knew this was her new student. "Well I guess they just can't make up their mind... that or the other girl had a career change."
After making her comment Hanako took a good look at her newly completed team of genin. Surely she could have gotten worse. Each one seems to have one specialty which isn't bad, but Hanako didn't know how shell handle them just yet. For now however she'll leave that for future training. Now that she had a team she needed to think of what their first lesson can be.
"Well. Introduce yourself to your teammates. I'll give you all another few minutes before we start anything." This should give her enough time to think of something. In fact she may already have an idea.

Kyomu was in fact quite taken aback by the fact that Mitsuko had heard of him. Sure he was good at Genjutsu, but that was due alone to the fact that he had been born a Kagami, in his opinion at least. Were it not for the lessons his father had given him, he didn't think that he'd be up to much. His confidence further faltered under Mitsuko's harshness of tone, clearly it had already clicked with his team mate that it was more to do with Clan speciality than innate talent. And after only a few seconds, must have made a worse impression than even I thought.
'Oh, you heard about that did you? That... well, that was nothing. Just luck I guess.' The luck of his birth to be precise. Idly he rubbed the back of his neck. 'But you--' Whatever compliment Kyomu was about to bestow on his new team mate was lost to Akemi's none too subtle entrance which, true to form, caught Kyomu completely off balance. A look of profound shock and confusion crossed over his face as she introduced herself, when she was done it was all he could do to smile. Well she certainly seems a lively one, if she's as personable as she seems I might just be able to salvage something from today. I sure seem to have made a mess of things with Mitsuko... somehow... and I'm not sure but I think Hayashi-sensei hasn't even so much as looked at me since I introduced myself.
It certainly seemed to be going poorly from his perspective thus far and to top it all off he had found a way to be made nervous by a girl who didn't even look to be much over four foot. Heart of a lion that boy. Disproportionate nerves aside Kyomu plucked up the guts to initiate the final introductions, after all the sooner they were made the sooner they could move on and he could maybe make himself seem less foolish. Unlikely, but still plausible... sort of. He was still wondering continuously in the back of his mind over what Mitsuko and Hanako thought of their initial encounter. His sensei in particular seemed to be thinking something over, but for the time being his only concern needed to be focusing on not making things any worse.
With both hands in his pockets he gave a curt nod to Akemi, since the handshake thing didn't seem to be working out what with his sweating palms. 'Nice to meet you Izayoi-san, I'm Kyomu. I'm sure we're all pleased to have you on the team.' His smile remained in place, even as he gave Mitsuko a quick sideways glance, never mind himself, he couldn't see these two clicking at all.

Mitsuko could only stare at the boy as he tried to play off his amazing test score in the genjutsu section. Even if he preferred that Kyomu's historic mark wasn't so important, the fact of the matter was that it really was pretty significant, and that was rather obvious. Still, humility was something to be admired, he supposed. If he recalled properly, the Kagami clan specialized in the illusory arts, so their most recent addition to the ninja world only filled that mold. Certainly an element of luck was involved in most everything, but that only went so far. Unfortunately for Mitsuko, the boy had talent, and that much was obvious. Downplaying his talents was certainly more likely to lessen the tension between the two boys, and Kyomu had done a good job of it so far. Still, Mitsuko couldn't let his guard down. Teammate or not, he was an obstacle, and that was that, even if Kyomu himself had no interest in a rivalry.
Mitsuko listened as his teammate continued on, and it seemed he was about to comment on him personally. He still seemed to be nervous, but that already had become a defining characteristic of his in Mitsuko's eyes. Before the boy could continue, however, a form came crashing in from the side of the group. The genin turned his eyes to see a small shape flying through the air and rocketing towards them. The projectile turned out to be a screeching person, a young girl by the look of it. As she rolled into a standing position rather smoothly, Mitsuko believed that she had somehow come there by mistake. But as she bowed and introduced herself as a "future weapon master", it became apparent that she was actually the team's third member.
This is insane. She's not even tall enough to be ten years old, much less a ninja. Crazy thin, too... He raised an eyebrow to scrutinize the black haired girl, whose headband, although worn around her neck, proved that she was indeed a genin like himself. Akemi Izayoi... Mitsuko ran through the names that he could recall from his class. He had chosen to memorize those students who would most likely be competition for him, and her name didn't come up on that list. He did manage to recall one incident, around the first day, where a small girl had barged in screaming that she was to be the best ninja in all of the Mist. Oh, I remember her... As much as he scanned his brain for further information, he came up empty. I guess that means she didn't do anything significant. If she had, he was sure that it would have been committed to memory.
The upside was that Akemi didn't seem to be built for physical combat, or any sort of combat for that matter. Things were looking up then. Even from a cursory look, it was clear to Mitsuko that he had at least the physical advantage against her. She was no threat to him, unless she had some sort of ace up her sleeve. Thankfully, he didn't receive another genius or even notable ninja on his team. Mitsuko heard his sensei mention something about a roster change, which made him more grateful. He'd gotten lucky. He might have been saved the struggle of having to top both of his teammates by some mix-up. It did seem, that she would be a rather obnoxious addition to the team though. Hayashi-sensei told them to once again get to know each other, as Akemi had not been introduced to her team.
Mitsuko allowed Kyomu to speak first, as he yet again spoke with respect. The boy was rather hard to take issue with, as he managed to be especially respectful even to his fellow teammates. The first part of his introduction was fine, but the second...not so much. He was likely suggesting something to Mitsuko, and he caught a bit of a glance from Kyomu. Is he trying to tell me to be friendly? It seemed that way, and he didn't like it. The smile still plastered his face, so either he was a master of subtlety or was not in fact trying to suggest anything. Either way, he wasn't about to have his reaction decided by another. That'd be pretty retroactive. Letting his scrutinizing eyebrow fall, he sighed lightly and spoke up.
"Mitsuko Subeki." He spoke, crossing his arms and leaning back against the tree. He wondered if there was something else to say, but couldn't manage to come up with anything interesting. "...And I guess we'll be teammates from now on." That information was fairly obvious, but simply saying his name would have been awkward. Hopefully Hayashi-sensei would get some training going, because the chit-chatting wasn't Mitsuko's favorite thing to do.

It wasn't as if Akemi was expecting them all to be in awe of her grand entrance...well that was a lie. She had honestly wanted to see a jaw or two hit the ground. Maybe eyes light up with glee at the prospect of being on the same team as her. Or possibly even a few tears of joy. Then again, that last one could have been stretching it. Still, would it have killed her sensei to give a little more reaction? That was a A grade entrance for crying out loud, maybe B- at the very least if the lady was a stickler. But the woman just looked deep in thought for some reason and Akemi just couldn't imagine what could be eating away at her mind, distracting her.
"Mission," suddenly came to the forefront of her mind. Defeating evil creatures that scared villagers, laying the smack down on bandits, saving the ninja world! Akemi nodded to her own thought, taking a better look at the woman in the process. Her envy briefly reared its green shaded face for a moment, noticing the figure. Akemi quickly brushed it off. Her mom and sister said she was just a late bloomer. Anyway, she focused back on the topic at hand. Her sensei could take as much time as she needed if the result would be a grand adventure that would go into legends themselves. The little girl puffed up with pride as she felt those crimson orbs of her sensei inspect her. "Probably wondering what techniques she can teach me~" was a hopeful thought.
The last statement from Hanako caused Akemi to turn and take in her teammates with a critical eye. She was well aware of her status at "dead last" which probably wouldn't escape them either. Maybe she should try to try to walk the walk, possibly add hacking and spitting in there. Guys did that right? On second thought, she'd pass. That was just plain gross. Besides, it'd be embarrassing if she wasn't able to actually spit. She never really tried. Didn't need that kind of malfunction on the first meeting.
As small as Akemi was she still attempted to radiate her presence, to make it known among everyone. She didn't wilt under their eyes, nor did she back down, and instead she held herself proudly. So what if she wasn't hot shots like them? They didn't look so great anyway. Captain Genjutsu looked about as scrawny as her. Even so, the smile he gave was light heartening. Akemi mentally kicked herself. There wasn't any reason to dislike them just because of their grades. That wasn't being fair in the least. The "Hot Shot" of the class could even be a decent guy.
Drawn out of her thoughts by their words of introduction, Akemi smiled. Turning to each of them, she bowed. It was her best attempt to remain polite. She had to remember her manners here. If her temper were to flare over something small and trivial it wouldn't bode well, especially with her sensei not a few feet behind her. Akemi had worked her ass off to make a place for herself. Going back to the academy or worse, losing her status as ninja, were absolutely not options. Standing straight from her bow the girl considered a friendly handshake only for the idea to be dismissed a moment later. Her hands were calloused and rough from weapon training and unbecoming in the eyes of most housewifes. If one of them were to give her any lip about it they'd only start a fire.
Her hand shifted to rest on her sword's hilt, a gesture that would put her more at ease. It was a subtle sign that while confident she was still a bit nervous of what they thought of her. "Nice to meet you guys, lookin' forward to working with you both." Her words held a honest sense of joy and cheer in them. Given her more 'passionate' or brutal attitude, not many at the academy flocked to her with a notion of being friends. If they were teammates they could become friends too, right? A mild sigh of annoyance almost escaped her. Not because of her teammates, but directed at herself. She felt weak, being all insecure and shy. She was Akemi Izayoi, the future weapon mistress of the mist!
"We'll become legends together!" She suddenly blurted out. The small girl's legs set on the ground as she proclaimed the statement proudly. Fires of will erupted behind her eyes and she pointed toward the heavens, her finger somehow catching the sun and letting of a blinding 'ping' of light.

"You wanna become legends, eh? Well that's not gonna happen anytime soon." Hanako eyed all of her students. The girl with her head in the clouds dreaming big dreams, the shy boy with sweaty hands, and the cocky boy with family issues. These were the ninja she was to train, teach, and hope they make it in this world. In her head Hanako thought about how things could turn out. Trying to predict the future of these three pretty much. Not much working as she only sees them as they are now. Pity, a good mental image would be nice to have right now to motivate her. Well pop...I hope you're watchin. Give me a sign if I mess up.
"My name is Hanako Hayashi." She started. "Today we begin our time as a team. We'll work together, train together, and fight together." Hanako couldn't bring herself to crack even a small smile. It was her nature to remain like that on the outside for the world to view. However her inside self was happy to be teaching a younger generation. Well now for the teaching part. "Well then. Lets jump straight into lesson for today." Hanako stuck her hands into the pockets of her coat and walked past the three genin so that she now stood near the thin tree that made a kind of small forest. This would be where they trained to.
"Today's lesson is simple. You will be tracking and capturing the target." She started to explain the lesson she had thought of. It was something simple, but then again who knows what could happen. "Be aware the target will fight back use your weapons if you have them." Of course no lesson is complete without a time limit. "You will have 4 hours to capture the target. Any questions?"

Indeed, it seemed that Mitsuko had no intention of warming to either of them, he'd probably come around, otherwise the next couple of months (perhaps the next few years even) would be very uncomfortable for all parties involved. As for Akemi, well, where to start, Kyomu wasn't even sure he could become a Chunin let alone a legend as she said. Turning from the others he dragged a hand down his face. What? These guys think I'm some kind of super-genius just because of who my father is? Give me a break... Not that it was an idea which Kyomu was entirely unfamiliar with, in fact as he was supposed to be the future Clan head it was practically expected of him. For starters though he had to make it through the day without embarrassing himself any further, for now at least that was a phenomenal feat worthy enough to keep his mind occupied.
He turned back towards the group as his sensei addressed them, standing straight for probably the first time since he had got up that morning, he had to seem positive, poised, decisive... despite not being any of those things. As Hanako explained the training they would be going through he visibly slumped again, he already had a pretty good idea of what the target would be and that meant that the three of them were going home with bruised bodies AND egos. Naturally he assumed it would be him more so than the other two, or was it that Hayashi-sensei actually thought they were good enough already to trap her? What if they didn't succeed in that?
Kyomu's heart sank and he swallowed hard. Thinking of that made him more anxious than anything thus far had done, of course he had no particular reason to fear Hanako, but as his Jounin he feared what she might do to his career should she become at all displeased with him. He had to ask, he couldn't just go in to something like this without knowing EXACTLY what he was getting himself wrapped up in. Then again, did he really want to know? Best not to agonize over it, it would only distract him during the training if he let it drop.
'Uh, yes ma'am-- I mean Hayashi-sensei,' he blurted the words out, unintentionally raising his voice but reigning himself in before he continued. 'Uhm, what I meant to say was,' with his hands still in his pockets he shuffled his feet as he spoke, 'w-will there be a penalty if we don't succeed?' Though no one else could see, he had crossed his fingers inside his pockets... Hayashi-sensei didn't seem the lenient and easy-going type, there had to be a penalty, Kyo just wanted to know how horrific it would be.

Mitsuko listened to the most recent addition respond to their introductions in a rather gleeful tone. Interestingly enough, she was more confident than the genjutsu master of the team. Does she even have anything to be confident about? She's so small... Despite her size, she seemed to exude confidence and possess an aura of sureness of self that was lacking in Kyomu, as well as Mitsuko himself. She also seemed to be rather loud and brash, and unfazed by the skills of her teammates. The two boys were among the best in their class, and she was rather unremarkable. But somehow, none of that bothered her or affected her. It was something to be noted. It was both a good thing and a bad thing.
Maybe I should put more effort into figuring out how well she did back at the academy... She wasn't in the top portion, he remembered that much. Akemi, Akemi....hm....! And suddenly it hit him. Dead last? Perhaps her confidence had put too much of a scare into the boy. While strength of will and heart were surely a must for battle, talk is simply talk without abilities to back them up. And if the Academy was an accurate measure of talent, than this girl was no threat to him, despite her disposition. And being worse than Rai with a similar personality meant that she was no trouble at all. She might even end up making him look better.
Mitsuko was as skeptical of her comments as the rest of the team. Legends? I guess that is what I'm supposed to become...though I doubt all three of us could become legendary shinobi. Becoming a legend isn't something people speak of this lightly. Is she really that certain of herself? The teachers back at the Academy didn't have similar impressions of her... He drifted yet again, not really minding whatever words were being exchanged, if any, amongst his team. He had a tendency to do that when involved in such conversations, and it was a habit he'd need to nip. Or maybe he'd be better off just avoiding such exchanges whenever possible.
The boy snapped back into focus as Hayashi-sensei retorted with a bit of a reality check. Best not to set high hopes from the get-go, anyway. Finally, Mitsuko heard what he'd been waiting for. It was time to actually get some action going. And not a moment too soon. He'd been growing impatient with all the idle banter. They weren't together to be chummy or pal around, they were there to become stronger and more powerful ninja, and to prepare to take glory within their grasp. Becoming friends with them would only hinder Mitsuko in missions, and compromise his fame. No need to do that, the Subeki didn't need a twenty-eighth failure in a row.
The mission was simple enough: track and capture by force, within four hours. An a-typical ninja assignment, nothing crazy. Four hours seemed a bit much though, surely he'd be able to capture his target before then. At least, that's what he should be capable of doing. Unlike the other two, he'd already trained with Hayashi-sensei once, so he figure he would have at least a small advantage on the two. He remembered the mind games she played using Kirigakure no Jutsu and the kunai...and he wouldn't be duped by the same tactics again.
The Kagami stuttered out an inquiry asking if there was a penalty for failure. The answer to that was rather inconsequential, as Mitsuko didn't expect to fail. What could the penalty be anyway? Maybe some push ups or other physical punishment, but nothing too serious. It was just training, after all. He didn't want the chatter to continue, so he figured he would answer Kyomu's question himself. "Does it matter?" He pushed off from the tree with his back, and stood up straight, arms still crossed, facing Hayashi-sensei, who had positioned herself by the tree line of a densely wooded area. "Let's just get started, worry about failing later." He had to add some more bite to these words, as they poured out with yet another venomous tone. While he was personally irked at the continued talk, the spite in his words were required. Well, at least things were heating up a bit.

Even with the miraculous shine that came from her dynamic pointing finger and the loud 'ping' sound the effect wasn't quite the one she was hoping for. Slowly, but surely, the girl wilted under the abrupt wake up call back to reality as her ideal faultered under the truthful words. The girl's hand lowered to her sides to point limply towards ground. Then in an uncomfortable gesture, moved to rest on the butt end of her sword's sheath. Hanako-sensei was right. Right now, at this instant, each of them were still grounded. The sky was still out of reach, stretching out before them as if teasing them. To be among the sun, moon, ands stars they still had a ways to go. Though put off by the less than gentle words, it did help Akemi focus. If words wouldn't do it, she's show them with action and prove to them that she was determined to make something of herself. And this lesson what just what she needed to do so.
The words ended up enhancing Akemi's determination similar to the effect of fanning a fire. However, it also kepted them controled. Instead of a wildfire raging out of control within a forest, Akemi held the blistering heat worthy of a smithing fire within her heart. Capture something? That was easy! The girl was so thrilled by the task she almost rushed straight by thier sensei without a thought before a stray one stilled her enthusiasm and made her think twice. "Wait, just what are we going to have to catch, some kind of animal?" She gave an idle glance to each of her teammates. If they knew they sure didn't seem as if they were voicing what it was. Akemi wanted to asked, but she didn't want to seem like the diunce if the answer was completely obvious.
Her attention shifted to focus more on Captain Genjutsu since he was the first to speak. As much as she hoped for a question, his wasn't the one in her mind. What did he mean by a "penalty"? This was training, he should be skimming over strategies or something. If he worried so much about failing, it'd only lead him to failing. Where was this guy's confidence!? Akemi found herself agreeing with the supposed hot shot of the team. Worry about failure when they failed, until then do everything they could to keep that from happening. Although...the guy could have been a little nicer about it. Maybe he was a jerk after all...or just misplaced his excitement and nerves over the upcoming task.
Akemi felt that she had been left out the loop long enough though. She was already growing ever more restless as time ticked by. Mentally she went over supplies and scrolls she had on her person and which would be the most useful. She swallowed a nervous lump in her throat before finally steeling herself and asking the question that was bugging her. "So what are we gonna be capturing?" To hell if they saw her as a dunce, she needed to know. Her heart was like thunder in her ears by this point, but she ignored it. Don't show weakness, fear, or even doubt. She had to stay strong and confident.
