Kegumo watched from a tree slightly to the groups right. Chisana herself had taken cover in the underbrush a mere five feet from the genin. Truthfully, the small scorpion could of probably killed them all by this point, but Kegumo had told her earlier to act as more of a distraction than anything. Kegumo knew Chisana was obedient, so she wouldn't have to worry about them getting stung by her.
Already she could tell the genin were caught flatfooted. It would take a lot of teamwork to just move, let alone keep her from cutting the band around their wrist. Really though, if they were even able to last ten minutes, but showed a significant amount of teamwork, she would pass them. She just had to make sure they could work together.
She heard Makoto speak, and couldn't help but be a little disappointed, though she should of expected it. She had hoped he would use some hand signals to convey what they should do, since he was a chuunin. While genin weren't well known for their use of hand signals, all genin still learned them, since it was a large part of a ninja's assassination and stealth training. You couldn't assassinate a target when he heard you planning his demise, now could you?
She didn't blame him, but she would make sure to give them all a nice lecture on the use of hand signals later, that is if they passed her test. Again Kegumo watched, hoping Shinzo and Sosuke would listen to Makoto, because if they didn't listen to someone who obviously had more experience than them, that would show either a bad sense of self preservation, or a lack of respect towards authority. Some might argue that it also shows stupidity, though Kegumo hoped none of her team had that trait. Stupid ninja's were always the first to die.

He would look to the other he heard teammate Shinzo words and just rolled his eyes but just agreed for now as he was more concerned with passing this test than anything else at the moment. He would look to his team mate Shinzo as he heard teammate Shinzo words and just rolled his eyes but just agreed for now as he was more concerned with passing this test than anything else at the moment. Sosuke eyes went to Makoto as he was sure what else to do but did not like being in open with only one hand to use and looked to him and heard his words and nodded to him and got ready to jump with him hoping that Shinzo would understand cause if not he was sure that they would pull them down and leave a big opening for kegumo sensie and her summon.
He would get ready to jump and look to them as their ninjutsu and genjutsu where sealed at moment but they had taijutsu and he had his sword he could take one and give other to give them offensive and a means of defense against kegumo sensei and her summon from cutting them loose. He hoped that shinzo had a kunai on him if he could arm himself it would decrease their chances of failing the test. He would jump with makoto hoping shinzo does the exactly same thing.

SHinzo took deep breath and brabbed on to his teammates and jumped to the tree Makoto told him to go to. Shinzo lookeed on as he thought about what he could do to make thing better but all of his ideas revoled around throwing his teammate like weapons as they defended theremselves.
SHinzo knew assigning himsels as their feet would be hard but as he laned on the tree he needed someone to be the attack and someone to be defence. Shinzo looked a Makoto who was a chunin and thought, he would be a perfect for attack. Next he looked a Sosuke he had gin-what-cha-ma-call-it and he can use it for defence.
"ok guys i need you guys to be our sword and Sheild as we try to surive this test anyone have an idea on what to do next" said Shinzo as he looked around to mak sure no one was attacking them.

They listened. The realization that they hadn't fallen into a crumpled heap and started fighting against each other was a relief. Still, this was only the first step of many. They needed a plan to survive. One that wouldn't come easy under such stress. Yet, even so, Makoto grasped at ideas while they took to the air. By the time they landed he had already had a few decent ones.
The chunin spared a glance at each of his teammates. Perhaps he should have used handsignals? No, he needed to be understood by them. This wasn't the time for mistakes. If they messed up the blame would hopefully fall on him. He could deal with the failure and even the demotion, but they still had careers ahead of them.
Both of them seemed nervous. Makoto was glad to know that he wasn't the only one who was a bit edgy by the circumstances. As the chunin of the group it fell on him to help them through. Sosuke was as hard to read as he was to understand and Shinzo wasn't very far behind with his odd mannerisms and tendencies.
However, while Sosuke stayed silent Shinzo spoke up. Though a good idea and a sound plan, Makoto disagreed. A sword and a sheild in the hands of a novice was useless against a war hammer of superior speed and power in the hands of a master. Their sheild would shatter under a combined assault of summon and master. Their sword would be too slow to strike. It was the same as being open. As much as Makoto detested to disagree with the boy, he had to. For a moment, he wanted to soften the blow and struggled to find the right words that would be gentle but reasonable. Yet, when none came Makoto was very much at a lost.
He tried his best to improvise and just spoke. "Attacking is useless. We should forsake it for defense and survival. I'll be the shield as we escape and buy time." He spoke in a hurry, already he could feel faint traces brush against his senses. There was no telling if it was the jounin or her summon, but the feeling of being watched was unmistakeable. Makoto tried to catch himself as not to seem completely unreasonable. "If an opening presents itself by all means attack it. Just not if it disrupts us or the link."
Makoto's normally gentle nature was challenged in the moment. Like conflicting rules of a law, he bent one while trying to push another. Politeness was tight and perhaps held a light sting to it since he was trying to carry his own burden and not fail at the task. He wanted to put these two before himself, but didn't want to push his way to leadership. Conflicting thoughts caused him to want to shut off his mind and just move as if this was another training exercise with his previous sensei, but that wouldn't work here. With his former sensei he had been solo and pushed to rely on himself. The point of this exercise was to work with others, which was an area Makoto lacked in compared to others.
Suddenly he came to the conclusion that this must have been why he'd been put on a genin team despite being a chunin. An answer that escaped him since his sensei retired came in the mists of thought while in battle. But he didn't have the time to dwell on it. Already he was a second too long in his own mind despite his throughts going much faster than he thought. All the thoughts shot through his head as soon as his words left his mouth and without taking a breath the chunin continued. "We need to put distance between us before they decided to attack. Stay together. On three," he pointed to the tree they were to jump to.
As he readied his leap, he concentrated on the feel from before. The Earth Spear technique would prove useful as the team's 'shield'. Angling his tied hand upward allowed him to make one simple seal and though it took more chakra than before to start the effect he felt his body harden beneath his cloak's shadows.
