Name: Kaibutsu Gakidou
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Village: Kirigakure, Village Hidden in the Mist
Rank: Genin
Nature Manipulation: Earth
Appearance:
Kaibutsu is a tall child, reaching the above average height for his age of 5'4. Because of this, he also weighs around 135 pounds, slightly above the average as well. This is all condensed into lean muscle, typical of a ninja. His skin is quite tan, which he gets mostly from genetics, and not from long amounts of time in the sun.
Kaibutsu's hair is a deep maroon, and is spiked towards the right side. It is only a couple of inches long, and if combed forward would only reach about the middle of his forehead. Kaibutsu's eyes are eerie, mainly in part to them being different colors. His left eyes is a bright yellow, while his right is a deep indigo. Another genetic trait from his family. Across Kaibutsu's neck is a long, jagged scar, going all the way across, as if someone cut his throat. He wears his forehead protector over his neck to hide this scar.
Kaibutsu has one large tattoo. It is a depiction of the Sora no Ryujin, or the God Dragon of the Sky, which his family worships. The head of the dragon starts at his left pectoral muscle, facing towards his right. It goes over his shoulder, twisting it's way down, the tail ending on the right of his lower back. The dragon is inked in pure black.
Kaibutsu's wardrobe tends to be somewhat different than other aspiring shinobi. Over his chest, he has three layers. First, he wears a simple, mesh shirt, that extends down to both of his wrist. Over this he wears a black, long-sleeved shirt. The sleeves are quite loose, allowing him to hide weapons and the like. In fact, in each of these sleeves lies a tanto, positioned with the blades facing downwards, in a way the he only needs a small movement so they are in his hands. This movement has to be quite precise though, so the blades don't come out when he doesn't need them. He wears a pair of black, fingerless gloves over his hands, to protect them in case the blades come too close to his hands. Covering his legs is a black hakama, taped to his ankles at the bottom, and secured to his waist with a long, maroon obi. The end of the obi hangs from his left side, down to about his knee. His shirt is also tucked into this obi. On both his right and left thighs lie a kunai and shuriken holster. His feet are covered by standard issue shinobi sandals, color black.
He usually wears what appears to be an ANBU mask, except it is black in color, and does not bear a resemblance to any creature. The mask is mostly blank, except for a couple of jagged red markings going vertically down the mask, each crossing over an eye-hole. Other than this, there are no other markings on the mask.
Personality:
Kaibutsu, overall, is a happy-go-lucky sort of guy. He loves to play around and have fun. He is never one to be too serious, even if the situation calls for it. This attitude has sometimes gotten him in trouble.
Kaibutsu, even with his cheerful demeanor, is somewhat of a loner. Whether this is from his difficult home life or just merely his attitude, is unknown. He doesn't seem to have many friends. The friends he does have with say that he only seems to hang out with them once a week or so, and even then, sometimes only for an hour or two. During these times of self-seclusion, he meditates or trains, something instilled in him since the day he could walk.
Also instilled in him since the day he could walk was a sense of loyalty. Not to his village, but to his family and the few friends he has managed to gain. He would never betray them, even for the village. Also, when something involves the safety of his family or friends is the only times he will truly become serious.
One of Kaibutsu's less...desirable traits is his addiction to the female form. In other words, he's a little pervert. Many times has he been beaten for being caught looking into the female hot-springs, or for letting his hands roam around his female instructors. He has often been quoted saying, "I'm a connoisseur of fine wines. The older, the better." Obviously, by this statement, he likes older women, and doesn't even look at the girls his own age. In fact, the current object of his affection is the reigning Mizukage, Mei Terumi, who, obviously, is much older than he is.
A little known fact to anyone, even his own mother, is that he never wanted to become a ninja, and to this day he hates the thought of it. The thought of killing men, women, even children, for money is sickening to him. He merely became due to his fathers wish that he become one. Besides, he was trained from infancy for the profession, and he knew there was no way to become anything else at that point.

History:
Kaibutsu was born to a small, but prominent, ninja family. His father was Shi Gakidou, and his mother was Ai Gakidou, formerly Ai Seikatsu. His Grandmother and Grandfather on both sides had been great ninja, though both his Grandfathers were killed during the Bloodline Purges.
When he was three years old, his family started teaching him the ways of the ninja. His father especially wanted him to become a ninja, and started training him in his Earth affinity as soon as Kaibutsu was able to wield his chakra.
With the constant training, Kaibutsu was never really able to have a childhood. His parents seldom took him anywhere to have fun, and he was often too exhausted to get out of the house and make friends. Its not that his parents didn't want him to have friends, they just wanted him to be strong. Strong enough to protect himself.
When Kaibutsu was seven, his father was killed during an assassination mission taking place in the Land of Rice Patties. The target had more ninja guards then expected, and Shi's team was slaughtered. The mission was counted as a success, though, since Shi was able to bury an explosive tagged kunai into the mans head before his death.
After his fathers death, Kaibutsu's mother, Ai, become very reclusive. She barely spoke to him, and ignored him most of the time. She even stopped training him. Kaibutsu soon ran away, thinking he was the source of his mothers sorrow and that he himself was hurting her. He ran into the shadier parts of Kiri, somewhere he would later vow to destroy.
One night, while he tried to find a place to sleep, two men ambushed him. Both men looked incredibly thin, and quite insane. They demanded any money Kaibutsu had on him, and when he told them he had none, one of the men slit his throat. The man obviously didn't know how to use the weapon he held, since Kaibutsu lived. Any normal child would of died a few minutes after the cut, but Kaibutsu was trained by two Jounin level ninja from the age of three, so he was no normal child. He was able to make it to the hospital, though barely. The medic-nins were able to save his life, but he fell into a coma for three months.
He awoke to his mother sitting by his bedside. When she realized he was awake, she burst into tears and hugged him. To his surprise, she was not angry at him for running away. In fact, she apologized for the way she treated him, something he couldn't comprehend. Wasn't he the one at fault? He was the one who had run away, after all, and she wasn't the one who brought the blade across his throat. He would figure out later in life that she was apologizing for the way she acted towards him before he ran away, not for what had happened that night.
After he woke from his coma, his mother started acting much more loving towards him, even more so than before his fathers death. She continued to train him, though she continually asked if the path of the ninja is what he wanted. He said yes every time, even though that is not what he truly wanted. He still remembered his fathers face as he looked onto his son when they had completed training. Such pride, thinking that one day his son would become a great ninja. He couldn't betray his dead father by saying no.
His mother had retired from being a ninja by the time he was eight, so she could better take care of Kaibutsu. They had plenty of money saved up from their missions, so that was not an issue. When he was nine, his mother entered him into Kiri's Ninja Academy, which had by this time had been reformed. He excelled in the areas of taijutsu, ninjutsu, and infiltration/assassination techniques, but was only average or below average in every other aspect. Despite this, he graduated near the top of the class at the age of thirteen, and now waits to be assigned a team.

Kaibutsu watched from the safety of his self-made cover, hoping to catch a glimpse of his enemy. The only movement he gave was the shifting of his eyes, looking into the trees. He knew that the leaves he had buried himself in were only a temporary hide-away, and his enemy would find him if he didn't move soon. If she hadn't found him already.
He gave one last look around before shifting from his hiding place. He looked behind him quickly, seeing if his opponent would attempt to ambush him. He turned back to his original facing, only to look into the green and yellow eyes of his enemy.
Jumping back quickly, his two tanto flowed from his shirt into his hands. Kaibutsu now knew that there was no way he could escape, so he would have to fight. Charging forward, he swung one of his tanto down on the woman, only for her to catch it and throw him aside. Before he could get back up, she had a knee firmly place into his back and a kunai to his neck.
"I forfeit." He said, a hint of annoyance escaping his voice. Laughing, his mother stood up, allowing him back to his feet. He turned an frustrated eye towards her.
"How did you find me?!" He demanded.
"Ah, ah, ah, Kai-chan, that's a secret." She said, waggling a finger at her young son.
Kaibutsu sighed. His mother firmly believed on learning by doing. It had worked so far, but sometimes she just made him so mad. He took his mask from his face, his frown evident. This only seemed to send his mother into another fit of laughter. Once she had finally calmed down, she turned around.
"Come on, Kai-chan, I'll get you some dango." The frown left his face in an instant, and he bounded after his mother. He loved his dango.
