Name: Metsuki Inuzuka
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Village: Konohakagure
Rank: Genin
Nature Manipulation: Earth
Appearance:
Metsuki appears, at first, to be a standard member of her clan - she has the ragged, messy hair, black in shade, which hangs to her waist. It looks like it hasn't been cut in a while, but if needed she can pull it back or cut it short. Her build isn't scrawny, exactly, but she doesn't look well-fed, being of average height and slightly underweight for her age. Not to say that she isn't strong. Only a civilian would take her appearance to be weak, because despite looking deceptively fragile, she is leanly muscled. Even going by looks alone she tends towards speed more than strength, but her partner can provide whatever strength she lacks. Her eyes are green, with the slitted look of an Inuzuka, and the clan markings on her cheeks leave no question of what she is.
Her features, however, are slightly different than most of her clan - a good look at her teeth would show that her fangs are more pronounced, often cutting the inside of her mouth, and her nails are longer than usual, and less inclined to break.
She generally wears clothes that can blend into vegetation easily - a loose green shirt with darker grey pants, both mottled and blotched with muted greens and browns to break up the colour and keep it from standing out if she was, say, hiding in a bush. A shirt of steel mesh lies underneath it extending past the short sleeves to shield her arms. Fingerless gloves cover her hands. She has the usual kunai and shuriken holster on her left leg and opposite hip. The outfit isn't flashy, and is simple to the extreme - she wants to be able to move around in it. Thanks to her preference of staying outdoors, her feet are extremely calloused, and she prefers to walk around barefoot, though she'll wear sandals if she has to.
Aomidori, her partner, is bigboned, promising to be monstrous in size if she reaches full-growth. At the moment she reaches Met's knee, and is a solid, inky black in colour. She is quite wolf-like in appearance, with golden eyes that hint at her mixed blood, as well as pointed ears and a plume of a tail. Her name comes from the change in colour when she eats a soldier pill, becoming a dark blue-green.
Personality:
Metsuki is still young and new enough to being a genin that she's naiive and innocent, not having thought of the future or of how bloody and gruesome a mission might get. That mindset will fade soon enough, and she's not utterly oblivious to death. She hunts and kills what she plans to eat, which gave birth to a somewhat honourable and merciful approach to bringing a life to an end: do it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Like most of her clan, she sometimes relies on instinct more than common sense, though she's more than willing to listen to reason if someone explains what might be a better idea.
Impulsive and typically of a happy nature, it's easy for her to trust others - too easy, though that will probably change once she gets a glimpse of how harsh the world can be. However, her whole attitude changes concerning her own clan - though she'll listen to them and respect those older and stronger than her, she is always on edge and wary when around another Inuzuka due to how she's viewed in the clan. She isn't stupid by any means, but she's better at reacting instinctively to a situation rather than planning ahead - training in tactics would probably be better than drilling how to strategize into her head. She doesn't often doubt herself and though she'll rush into things, it's rare that she'll hesitate when action is needed.
Unsurprisingly, Met is loyal thanks to growing up in a pack-oriented clan. She'll treat her superiors with every amount of respect they should get due to rank, even if she doesn't like them, though she opens up easily to those at around her age and distances herself from those higher than her unless they show that they genuinely want to get to know her. She's quite determined and single-minded and it isn't easy to distract her if she's focused on something. She's severely claustrophobic, and becomes nervous when inside a completely enclosed space, no matter if there are doors and windows or not. Crowds also make her edgy to a milder degree. The more time she spends in such an area, the worse she'll get, until she'll start panicking and refuse to move - or worse, lash out at anything nearby in order to get away.

History:
Metsuki was born to two Inuzuka clanmembers who didn't expect a great deal from their firstborn. They weren't the best of ninjas themselves - they worked well in partnership with other clanmembers and their dogs, of course - and were pleasantly surprised when their child showed signs of becoming an amazing tracker. A keen sense of smell, and sometimes hearing as well, was one of the traits of an Inuzuka. However, Met had a sharper nose than many, and though her ninjutsu and genjutsu were mediocre, she was skilled enough in the feral style of taijutsu her clan practiced for the elders to acknowledge her as one of the more promising academy students, and once she was seven years old, they let her take a pup from the most recent litter - unaware that the pup had been fathered by a wolf, not another nindog.
Once the clan found out, though, there was trouble. There was nothing wrong with dogs or with wolves. Both were loyal, one to their master, the other to their pack. Either way, they were stable, fierce to their enemies - they could be depended on. But a mixed-breed was bad luck and more. Half-wolves were nervous, edgy creatures with aggressive temperaments, always snappish and wary of others. These traits were often carried over to the unfortunate clanmember that had bonded the canine, due to the sharing of chakra. Besides that, a nindog with a parent that wasn't enhanced like most Inuzuka canines tended to have unpredictable chakra - nothing truly dangerous, but after a time their partner would change, becoming suspicious, maybe even changing physically - though most unlucky ninja who were cursed like this left the clan long before that showed up.
Met became the clan pariah, looked down on and treated with disdain - how could she make a good ninja if her dog was unreliable? And of course, she would be unreliable as well...
At first she was unaware of the rumours and subtle insults, content in spending time playing with her new partner. Things became complicated fairly quickly though - she learned that though taking Ao into the Academy was frowned down upon, she had to, as otherwise the half-wolf went on destructive rampages, gnawing on furniture if kept in the compound. Academy life was difficult at first, with the teachers occasionally not being understanding and the other children poking fun at her. Ao's overprotectiveness didn't help at all... at least until someone tried to bully her. Suddenly, the cute pup that had been a burden was her greatest ally, scaring them off before they could hurt her. After that she took care to notice who her dog was more aggressive towards, and kept away from them.
It still took a while before she figured out what the clan thought. She sometimes played with her parents' partners, usually chasing them in a game of tag or mockfighting. One day when she tried to play with them and Ao, both got up and left without a word, leaving her confused. When she asked her parents about it, that unearthed some rather unpleasant questions, and ended in tears. She hadn't asked for this, didn't want to be a freak, shunned because of an accident. And yet... she couldn't abandon the puppy that had managed to defend her from bullies. So Met stayed with her, refusing to get another companion - that would have been risky anyways - and training with her to make sure they could fight as a proper team, just like any other ninja in the clan.
However, the jibes and atmosphere of contempt and doubt increased despite her efforts to be accepted. As if to fulfill the prophecy of becoming like her partner, she became sullen in response, never spending much time around the rest of the clan unless she had to - when she began to be claustrophobic, she took to spending time outdoors, to the point of sleeping outside if she couldn't bear the thought of returning. Despite her attitude towards her clan, and their attitude towards her, she still managed to pass the tests and become a genin, waiting to be assigned a team.

How hard could it be to find food? Metsuki sighed, eyes narrowing in irritation as she stared at the patch of grass that refused to offer up any food for her to eat. The girl was currently crouched on the ground, ignoring the tickle of the grass on the soles of her feet. Ao sat beside her, whining impatiently as she tracked the various scents in the air and on the ground - they were both trying to find something to eat. Not that there was anything truly wrong with store-bought food, but Ao refused to eat dog food, and thus needed to hunt. It made more sense for them both to bring down a brace of rabbits, cook one for herself and have Ao eat the other.
Alas, rabbits were scarce in Konoha. Such a thriving village didn't often have amazingly vast lush spaces for prey and though there were forests and parks aplenty, Metsuki didn't feel like going through the whole village in a search for food. Venturing outside Konoha was madness without a jounin to supervise, and so... she spent her time sitting outside what her nose told her was a rabbit warren, with a fresh scent to taunt her. Doubtless if she backed off, it wouldn't come out until she was too tired to lunge forward - and start feeding once she was asleep. A frown marred her expression and the girl eventually nudged the half-wolf beside her, ignoring her partner's disgruntled sneeze at being bothered. "Ao, see if there's another entrance." she murmured, going through the pouch on her hip.
Shuriken, kunai... those would be her weapons to take down the prey, of course. Soldier pills were hardly useful - wire for a snare, maybe if she had the patience and didn't need to eat right now. As soon as her fingers landed on a number of spheres, she grinned - this was what she had been looking for. Ao snorted and finally moved away, nose to the ground as she weaved back and forth, eventually finding a secondary entrance to the warren, which she signalled with a bark. Met's grin grew wider as she grabbed one of the smoke bombs, edging closer to her own entrance. A flick of the wrist and it landed well inside the hole, the smoke billowing inward. Satisfied, she sat and waited, hearing the thump of tiny feet that grew fainter... to be replaced by Ao's triumphant snarl as she lunged at the prey, skillfully killing three. A few more escaped, but they didn't need to bother with that. Moving to pick up the carcasses, the genin set off for a more secluded spot to make a fire and eat - the hunt had gone well tonight.
Notes: Ye gods, this is long. Don't know where else to put this, but Met can pick up on rough emotions - like fear or anger - from someone's scent, fear being the easiest because it often makes the person sweat.
