Name:
AKIYAMA Hinoiri
Age:
15
Gender:
Female
Village:
Village Hidden in the Clouds
Rank:
Chunin
Nature Manipulation:
Lightning
Appearance:
Hinoiri is a spirited young woman, standing at 5 feet, 7 inches. She is lithe and wiry, weighing in at 119 pounds. She has heterochromia, a condition where there is a difference in the color of the iris, so she has one green eye (on her right side) and one blue eye (on her left side). Hinoiri has bright red hair, which she spikes back (think of Axel of Organization XIII in Kingdom Hearts). She typically wears a pair of goggles or a bandana to help keep her hair back. On the inside of her wrist is the kanji for weasel. This is bordered by thick black bands above and below the kanji that wrap around her whole wrist. This is from the contract she made with the weasels. Her shirt is a plain black fitted tee with a pinstriped blazer worn over it, typically unbuttoned. She isn't flat-chested, but her chest isn't something of wonder. She has a smaller chest in comparison to many girls her same age. Her cup size is a 32 B. Her shorts are a bright blue with fishnets underneath going to mid-thigh. Her sandals reach slightly above her ankle and have a zipper up the back.
Hinoiri has supply pouches on her left upper arm and right thigh. The one on her arm holds shuriken and needles, while the one on her leg holds kunais, letter bombs and wire. She has a chain that hangs from the top pocket of her blazer down to the bottom pocket. This is a weighted chain , so she can throw it and it would wrap around her victim. The three chains wrapped around her waist and hips are other weapons, one a kusari-gama with a ring blade, another is a 9-section chain whip and the last is a kusari gama with a weight. She wears goggles on top of her head that help her lengthen her vision (like a telescope), help her see better at night (night vision) and lets her view the world in infrared.
Personality:
Hinoiri is quite bubbly, always wanting to make friends or screw around. With her friends, she’s always searching for some awesome ‘hideout’ like a really high rooftop, underneath a bridge, etc. You will rarely ever see Hinoiri anything but happy, but if she happens to be angry, sad or anything else, she’s not afraid to express her emotions. Her emotions show plain as day on her face. Hinoiri is very, very loud, and constantly has to be told to be quiet, although she can be quite, only when she has to though. Because of her obnoxiously bright red hair, Hinoiri is used to attention and doesn’t mind people looking at her. She’s always looking for something to keep her entertained, which has led her into loads of trouble. She’s been labeled a trouble-maker, but she doesn’t look for trouble. People are just easily annoyed, right? She’s not doing anything wrong; it’s other people that get her into trouble. Of course, that way of thinking is currently in the process of being beat out of her by her sister, Hinode.
You can always trust to have a good time with Hinoiri, you just have to be ready to be pushed, pulled, dragged, and/or tugged in whichever direction she’s going. Hinoiri is very bull-headed, but she never means any harm. When fighting though, Hinoiri is all business. She is used to being teased and getting into fights for her red hair, her summoning of weasels, and because many people believe that she and her sister were originally from the Rice Field Country. In fight, Hinoiri tends to take a leadership role, trying to organize everyone under one idea. While it has been claimed that she’s very bossy, Hinoiri retorts that she doesn’t want to injure her teammates because they don’t know what she’s going to do. Although most people think she isn’t smart, she can think of tactics on-the-go and is always thinking of statistics, a trait beaten into her by her sister, Hinode. This is so she doesn’t lose her cool in the heat of battle and so she can rationalize what tactics to use. She also has a great memory for statistics, facts and basically anything written.
At home, Hinoiri typically cleans the dishes and does the laundry, while her sister cooks and cleans the house. While Hinode teases Hinoiri that she can't cook anything except ramen, Hinoiri is quite a good cook, although she likes to cook over a fire usually. Even though she seems more like a person that creates a huge mess, Hinoiri is quite neat, another habit beaten into her by Hinode.

History:
Hinoiri’s mother and sister, Hinode, stumbled into the Hidden Cloud Village just before sunset. They were refugees from the Rice Field Country, where Orochimaru was currently taking power. Mother still had three month to go in her pregnancy, yet here she was, going into the early stages of labor. It was obvious she had been attacked, and the doctor didn’t think she would make it. Hinode, who was at that time only ten years old, was taken into another room while the doctors worked quickly to try and save the mother and her child. Mother died just before the child was born, so the doctors had to pull the child out before it suffocated inside the mother. The child was born three month early, and the doctors were unsure if the child would survive. The lead doctor of the operation asked Hinode what her name was, and when she told him that it meant sunrise, the doctor gave Hinoiri her name, which means ‘sunset’, as she was born at the end of her mother’s life. He tried to explain to Hinode, a little ten year old, that she would never see her mother again, but the child understood. Her mother had explained it to her already as they ran to save Hinoiri’s life. It was a very cold night, and they were unsure how to keep the child warm or if the child would even survive the night, when a Siberian weasel snuck into her container and wrapped itself around the child. The doctors tried to pry the weasel away from the infant, knowing that according to lore, weasels were bad luck and thought to steal souls. But whenever they were successful in removing the weasel from the child, the infant’s vital signs would plummet. So they were forced to leave the animal with the child, watching carefully. The head doctor only gave the child 30 days to live, less with the fact that she was being guarded by a weasel, but Hinoiri grew to a healthy weight, although she does have a smaller stomach than most people. After Hinoiri was moved from the incubator to the nursery, the weasel continued to stay with the young child. A young nurse decided to take in the children.
When Hinoiri turned 6, the young woman that had been taking care of the sisters was killed in action. Fortunately, Hinode was 16 at the time, a chunin, and was getting an income from her missions, so they were able to reside in the same house and pay for what necessities they could come by. Hinoiri was hit harder by the young woman’s death, crying for a whole week and locking herself in her room until Hinode basically dragged her out. After this, Hinoiri promised to become a shinoibi so that she could protect those she loved and cared for from that same fate.
Hinoiri was always the child in her classes that would randomly burst out with a question. She never raised her hand, and she never learned to shut up. Her peers always teased her about her hair, which she always had spiked back like a kabuki wig, her birth, or the pipe fox spirit that had surrounded her at birth, which many people thought to be a symbol of bad luck, even though it had saved her life. This caused her to get into loads of fights, labeling her has a trouble maker. She became a Genin when she was 13.
A year later, Hinoiri’s sensei put her team into the Chunin exams. This is where Hinoiri met her best friend, TSUKINO, ayane from the Hidden Rain Village. Their friendship started off rocky, as Ayane tried to kill Hinoiri and her team during the second phase of the exams, but Hinoiri kept working to see the good in Ayane. When Hinoiri protected Ayane and her team from being attacked outside of the exams, Ayane let go of her deeply ingrained beliefs that all outsiders wanted to harm her village – but only for Hinoiri, of course. They both passed their Chunin exams, and still keep in contact, or, as much as they can with the country’s love for secrecy.
Soon after passing the Chunin exams, Hinoiri made a contract with the weasel boss, so that she could summon the weasels when she was in need of their help. She keeps the contract with her in the form of a tattoo on the inside of her left wrist of the kanji of 'weasel' bordered by thick bands above and below the kanji that circle her wrist. Although most weasels live for only eight years, the weasel that helped save Hinoiri's life is still alive and kicking - hard. Hinoiri named him Haruki when she became a Genin.
What Hinoiri doesn’t know is that she even though she was born in the Cloud Village, she cannot claim ancestry there. Her family came from the Rice Field Country, now Otogakure. They fled to avoid the rule of Orochimaru. Her father was killed for some obscure reason that not even Hinode knows. Their father's death was the reason they left when they did.

Hinoiri’s head dropped, hitting the table with a loud slam and sending her sister’s cup of tea to the floor with a crash. Hinode glared at her sister before picking up the pieces of the tea cup. Hinoiri darted her eyes to watch as her sister ignored her yet again. She exhaled noisily, trying to blow strands of hair out of her vision. Hinoiri didn’t like it when Hinode purposely forgot to ask her about her day. That was how their evenings went; Hinode would ask how Hinoiri’s day went, she’d complain till she was blue in the face, then ask Hinode how her day was, at which point Hinode would threaten to the wall that she’d break her ANBU mask if a certain someone didn’t stop acting like a child or get moved to a different squad. Hinoiri still wasn’t sure who this super annoying person was, but she knew that if they didn’t catch the hints that her sister was putting out, they were going to end up with missing body parts. Hinoiri sighed annoyingly loud, lifting up her head a fraction to glare at her sis as she walked back to the stove to pour another cup of tea. “I have nothing to say, Hinoiri, so I’d appreciate it if you would stop knocking over my tea, thanks so much.” Hinoiri wrinkled her nose at the ice in her sister’s voice, and so sat up, leaning back in her chair.
“Was today really that bad?” Hinoiri asked. Usually, Hinode had a calm demeanor. Usually, Hinode was the only person that wouldn’t get mad at Hinoiri. For Hinode to be icy to Hinoiri was something that didn’t usually happen. Hinoiri could only really remember one time Hinode had been icy with her, and that was when she had found out that the nurse-lady had been killed in action. Hinoiri hoped that Hinode was icy for another reason this time. She was the little sister of Hinode’s squad, sometimes annoying, but all of them protected her like they were her siblings too. “No one died, Hinoiri.” Hinode replied to her sister’s silent question. Hinoiri breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s great, then-“ “It’s just a lot of shake-ups that are finally reaching us, is all” Hinoiri watched her sister closely as she slumped into a chair across from her. She looked exhausted, and much older than 25. Hinoiri scrunched her face up, feeling bad for pressing her sister for details when it was obvious that Hinode didn’t want to talk. Hinoiri thought for a moment, looking at the details of the ceiling.
“I’ll make dinner tonight” Hinoiri finally decided, pushing her chair out and standing. She walked over to the cabinet, pulling out some instant ramen. “You mean you’ll throw noodles into boiling water for three minutes then add the flavor packet?” Hinode asked, poking fun at her little sis. Hinoiri stuck her tongue out at the back of Hinode’s head, making a raspberry sound. They both laughed as Hinoiri put the water on to boil.
“I’m sorry about tonight, sis. I’m just too-“ Hinode began, but Hinoiri cut her off. “Don’t worry! All I did today was run off 10 pounds cause Sensei though I needed more dislipine!”
Notes: Hinoiri has an older sister, Hinode, who is ten years her senior and ANBU. She had a strong connection to weasels and the ones she summons, wishing no harm to them.
