Hanako stood looking at a pound covered by a thin layer of mist. Nothing abnormal for the MIST village. It was here she asked her students or student to meet with her for the first time. Right now she only had one instead of the normal three. Nothing to complain about she was sure they'd get around to filling her team when they had the chance. For now she'll just wait for her one student. Thinking to herself about random things to keep her mind busy.
Maybe I should start smoking. I think Uncle Kyosuke smokes so I might ask him about it, but I'm sure he'd say something like it's bad for you and your father would never allow it. I don't know maybe I'll just look into it myself. Her mind may have been wrapped up in his thoughts of things her uncle would complain about, but she was very much aware of what was going on around her.
She turned to look away from the pound toward this empty field of nothing. No grass and hardly any plant life. This was the same field her father helped her learn taijutsu. What better place for her to start teaching young genin. Hanako started digging in her duster's inside pocket. After a few seconds of moving her hand around she pulled out a small piece of paper. On the paper was the title Team Hanako and one name. "Mitsuko Subeki"

Mitsuko ruffled with his hair as he sat quietly in the main room of his father's house. While the boy have been silent, the room was from it. Ogichi Subeki was yelling at the top of his lungs at his bandaged little ninja. The screams were about his battle with Rai, specifically that he was injured by someone at the bottom of his class. It was pathetic, disappointing, disgraceful. Just a few of the words his father had used to describe Mitsuko's scuffle and subsequent admission to the hospital by an ANBU. While the shinobi argued he was standing up for the pride of his father and the clan and that Rai's hits were entirely luck-based, Ogichi quickly and sharply retorted that the pride of the Subeki had actually caused more damage than help to the family name. "At this rate our honor will never be restored." Not that they had any to begin with.
While the irritable Ogichi was more than prepared to continue railing on his son, Karin, the woman of the household, interjected to save her son from the remainder of the rant. "Mitsuko!" She yelled cheerfully. "Your teacher said she wanted to meet you out in the field." She was always there for the kid, and was the only person who not only did not put extra pressure on the boy, but helped keep him from it. "Wow, and now you're late for your FIRST meeting with your teacher. I swear, sometimes..." Mitsuko had already begun out the door, and his father sighed, much like a boiling pot letting off steam.
Thanks mom. He thought, as he started running towards the field that his teacher designated. If Karin hadn't saved his ass, he would have been running even later than he already was. But even with his mother's best attempts, Mitsuko's shaky confidence had taken quite a hit. Shit shit shit... His run became a full on sprint, and his natural speed served him well. Eventually, he got to the field, in record time. Before he got close to the figure in the distance, he took the time to finish his heavy breathing, before adjusting himself and approaching his sensei.
"That'd be me." He spoke up, bowing before his new sensei. "Sorry I'm late." His words were strangely shaky though. Perhaps it was the running, meeting the jounin in front of him, or the yelling he'd received earlier, but his words were lacking in confidence. His usual cockiness wasn't there, and one could even see it in his stance if not his voice as well. He didn't notice it himself, and hopefully his new sensei wouldn't either. Wouldn't wanna seem like a bitch for the first impression.

Hanako's eye looked away from the paper to the boy who spoke up. She assumed he was claiming to be the person whose name she just read off the paper. He also reminded her that he was indeed late, but if she was correct it was only by a few minutes so she'll let that slide for now. Shoving the paper back into her duster she looked him over. His words were shaky, and he seemed kind of off to her. Whatever the reason was not something she cared about though.
"Being late isn't a problem for the first meeting. Since you showed up in the end I'll let it slide, but try to be on time for any future training session or meetings." She looked at him one more time before moving toward a large rock big enough to sit on. Hanako sat down and folded her arms. "Well lets start things off here. My name in Hanako Hayashi and I'll be your team's sensei from now on. However seeing as you are the only one of the team at the moment we'll save actual training for later and just use this time to get to know each other."
Hanako finished talking and waited for the boy to speak up about himself. She figured it'd be easier to work with him if she knew more than whats written in his file.

"Thank you, sensei." He grinned nervously, obviously apprehensive at the fact that he was being looked over. It was normal though, as both of them had to size each other up. Mitsuko was taken off guard in a way, as he didn't expect a female sensei. It wasn't particularly strange for him, and he didn't really care too much what her gender was. She was a jounin, which meant she'd proven herself many times over, and in life and death situations. And that was that. Not many people got respect from the arrogant genin so quickly, but a sensei-student relationship did require it. And he'd have to scrap his pride if he wanted her to teach him anything.
"I suppose you already know my name." He noted, and quickly committed her name to memory. His father, while not an excellent ninja during his days, seemed to know a lot about other shinobi, and he'd make sure to ask if he knew anything about Hanako Hayashi. If he wasn't still fuming, that is. "Alright." Mitsuko said in response to her suggestion. He didn't really know what to say about himself, or what she was looking for. He watched her sit on a rock, and figured she was preparing for him to give up some long-winded story. He didn't have any, unless he wanted to bitch about being the last hope of his family and all that. But he was interested to see if she had any reaction to him being a part of the notoriously terrible Subeki. clan.
Mitsuko stared at the puddle for a bit, gathering his thoughts. "Well, I'm here to learn, I guess. That's the first thing, is that I really want to get stronger and learn what I can from you, sensei." He paused for a bit, trying to find something more interesting to say. "I was one of the best students in my class, and I'm an all-around fighter. Don't really prefer any specific type of combat, I think I do it all pretty well." He said with a bit more confidence, but his body language betrayed that, and instead of seeming cool and collected, he still gave off an air of nervousness. He used his left hand to mess with his hair, revealing the bandages and showing a bit of the 'XXVII' he had tattooed on it. "So uh, what about you sensei? How did you get to be a jounin?" He asked inquisitively, as he showed rare interest in his voice. He would love to hear that story.

A numeral. Seems me and this kid have similar tastes. Hanako thought as she saw the tattoo on the boy. Of course by similar tastes she was referring to her numeral XIII under her right eye. Strange to see someone else with such a tattoo, but his might have more of a meaning to it. Hers was something else. Personal. She continued to listen to the boy and when he asked her how she became a Jounin. She simply repeated what her sensei said when she asked the same question.
"I fought, I killed, I worked day and night for the sake of this village..." she said remember her sensei's voice saying the same. Her life as a Jounin hasn't been that long in her eyes, but it's been long enough to understand what it took to get here. "I've done many mission of different ranks. I started from the bottom and worked to get here. I did all the same stuff I'm gonna make you and whoever your teammates are do."

Mitsuko caught sight of his sensei's eyes, which had wandered onto the tattoo on his left hand. He quickly tucked it into his pocket, as it was a sign of shame, and not some mark of pride or accomplishment. It wasn't really meant to be seen, but she hadn't inquired about its presence so it was not an issue. He noticed that she also had a tattoo, but under her eye. So it was obviously not the same as his. Maybe he'd ask about it later, he didn't really want to hit any sore spots this early on in their relationship. He removed his eyes from her face, trying not to stare or anything awkward like that.
"So what am I gonna have to do, exactly?" His voice seemed eager now. She wasn't really getting to personal during their meeting, which was fine. He wasn't either. One on one conversations weren't really his forte, and it would take quite sometime for him to get used to her. He reflected for a second on the idea of killing someone. "Is it hard?" He said seriously and silently, thinking to Rai for a bit and dodging eye contact. "You know, to kill somebody." He realized though, that he was sounding pretty uncool. "Not that I can't do it. I'm just wondering, is all."

"It really depends how you look at it." She started to answer his question about killing. It was an expected question really. Most genin have not had missions that involve the death of another be it enemy or ally. "I can't say for sure if it's hard for all, but I can tell you that it was only hard for me at first. I got used to doing it if I must." Hanako looked at toward the pound. Within a few seconds images from a passed mission played through her mind. She saw blood and body. It was the memory of her first kill.
After about a minute of remembering her eye shifted back toward the boy. "Trust me kid. Killing isn't something every shinobi wants to do, it just comes with the job." Looking back at him. "And what I have planned for you should be explained only once I get a full team. Don't wanna leave anyone out."

"I understand..." He answered, nodding while she spoke to let her know he was listening. Mitsuko wasn't too apprehensive about fighting and killing other ninja. What worried him was his teammates. He would be stuck with them permanently, and would have to be chummy with them. Also on his mind was the fact that his personality would be much different around other genin his age. That would certainly be strange for Hayashi-sensei, seeing someone go from a normal student to a cocky bastard within a couple days. But all those things were for a later date. The here and now was getting to know his sensei.
The boy was disappointed that he couldn't get any training done yet. He figured as much when nobody else was there, but he was holding out hope that maybe he could. Not so. "Of course, I gotcha." He understood, it would be annoying to repeat the same things over and over. "So, did you always want to be the leader of a genin squad or is it required of you?" That'd be a vital answer. He wanted to gauge her as best as possible. She ssemed to be pretty settled though, and he figured they'd get along well enough.

"It's not required to teach. I choose the job" Hanako stood up from the rock and dusted the back of her duster off. They were running out of things to talk about if the boy was going to start asking questions like why shes here teach and not taking mission or something like that. She thought it best to move off her and go back to asking him questions. "If you don't mind me asking. I saw the numeral tattoo. I have one to as you can see and I was wondering if yours has any meaning to it or is it nothing more then a random tattoo."
She asked bluntly folded her arms even as she stood. At this point she was just trying to make the time they had here last as long as it could. She had cleared her day for training with a team, but with only two people the training she had in mind. It would be...unfair.

Mitsuko sighed inwardly. Good, she was there because she wanted to be. He noticed his sensei stand up, and she asked him a question that any curious person would ask. A boy with tattoos was not a normal sight, by any means. He pulled his hand from his pocket and stared at it. People had asked him about the thing before, but he had never given the honest answer. Now, of all times, didn't seem to be the time where he would tell the truth, considering he wanted his sensei's respect more than anything. "Well...I wouldn't call it random." He said, carefully pulling back the slightly bloody bandaging from his wrist to reveal the mark in it's entirety. The small cut he received from Rai was visible too, though not serious looking in the least.
"I'm from the Subeki, as you know." He started, taking a deep breath and showing her the back of his hand. "I don't know if you're familiar with us, but we're known for breeding low-caliber ninja. There are clans who are particularly famed for their abilities. We, are famed for our lack of them. We are physically inept, mentally soft, and have low amounts of chakra. The number here, twenty-seven, represents the amount of shinobi, in a row, who have not advanced past genin from my clan. I'm supposed to be the one who finally brings honor and fame to my family. I'm supposed to be some great shinobi, and I'm told I have the potential to do so, but..." He trailed off, staring at the ground in shame. "I'm sorry, I got carried away. I also have three others, one on my back and one on each of my shoulders, though they aren't numbers." He finished his babbling, and waited for comment from his sensei.

Hanako stared at Mitsuko as he trailed on about his tattoo. The Subeki clan. Never heard of them really. As far as she knew this was the first time hearing that name. Somehow this was starting to remind her of something. Couldn't quite put her figure on what exactly, but in the back of her head the image of a man popped up. She stopped thinking about it when he stopped himself and told her where other tattoos were. "Sounds like your family has a lot riding on you, or at least in their eyes they do."
When she thought about he didn't sound like he liked how they see him. Though that could just be her. "Well rest assured that under my training you will get passed genin. That is as long as you do your part for the team... once it's complete that is." She finished talking and started to think to herself. This kid has too much pressure put on him from his family. I had little faith from my family. In some ways we could be a like. This should be interesting.

"Kinda." He answered, thinking more about it. He tried to play it off a bit, this time with a bit of a fake smile. "The Subeki's pride and joy." He scoffed a bit at the name, reflected on one of the many names his family placed on him in the hopes of turning him into a hero. Mitsuko actually hadn't noticed how...open he was being with her. It wasn't natural, but he supposed it was fine as long as his teammates weren't there. But he wasn't planning to make a habit of it. His shoulders were broad physically, and they were supposed to be broad figuratively as well. Such a sign of weakness or collapse under pressure would not be acceptable from then on.
"I'll give it my all." He said, and began to think about his team. While he may not want to deal with the pressures of meeting new people, they would provide sparring partners, at least. So in a way, he was excited to get the team together as well. And hell, then the training could start. He wasn't too fond of working with others, but Mitsuko would cross that bridge when he came to it. But he didn't want to leave the topic on his family or personal history. "Does your tattoo have a meaning as well? Like from your family or something?" Essentially asking if hers held a similar purpose as his own, which would make him feel better about unleashing that emotional bit of information.

She should have expected him to ask about her tattoo after she asked him about his. She didn't only cause most of the people who knew her already knew about it. "Its a tribute to my father who had the same tattoo." She paused for a moment as she started thinking about her father. "He took me in after my mother's death, and he protected me from less this friendly family members." She left out why they disliked her. Explaining the numeral was fine by her, but the boy doesn't need the whole story of her family.
"I have another tattoo going down my right shoulder to my elbow. It has no real meaning however." After thinking about it for a bit and listening to enough information about the boys home life. Hanako was gonna let the boy choose what happened next. "Ok talking is good and all, but even I don't want to stand here chatting all day. I know I said we'd wait for the rest of the team to be picked, but I'll let you pick. Leave for the day, or start some simple training."

"I see." A tribute to one's father was indeed admirable. Mitsuko knew a thing or two about it, as he held his father in the highest regard. Despite his constant pressure, Mitsuko really only wanted to succeed for him specifically, not so much the clan itself. But if both the clan's status and his own were elevated as a result, so be it. The young pupil didn't really want to probe any further into the subject, as her words left a sense of foreboding that spelled out how touchy the subject was. That was fine, he was never want to pry or be bothered by unturned stones. Perhaps another day though, he'd hear his sensei's story in full.
He took note of the second tattoo she mentioned, and he figured he would take a look if it ever came up. While he didn't like what his represented, he did appreciate good ink every now and then. The next few words brightened the mood considerably, at least for Mitsuko. Hayashi-sensei had offered him some training, if he wanted. And no shinobi in their right mind would turn down that offer. He'd seem like a wimp, and he did actually want to train anyway. Getting a headstart and the competition couldn't hurt. "If it's not a hassle, Hayashi-sensei, I'd love to get going on some training." He made sure his wrist bandaging was properly fitted, and then spoke up confidently, with a smirk.
"I can take whatever you can throw at me."

She listened to his choice and started to smirk at his words. He'll take whatever she throws at him eh? "Well then I'll aim elsewhere." She said as a little smirk appeared on her face. After that she took out a single kunai and threw it up. It landed a few feet to her right side and stuck into the ground. "We'll play a simple game. Take the kunai before I knock you out. Ready..." She stopped for a moment and eyed the boy for a moment. She moved her right hand into a single hand seal.
"Start the game. Kirigakure no Jutsu." The Mist began to thicken and Hanako disappeared in it. The ground could hardly be seen and the area was pretty much completely covered in the mist being fed by the pound. "Get the kunai and you win. If you win I'll treat you to some food, but be careful I'm not gonna make it easy." Hanako's voice echoed seemingly all around.
