Kyomu growled in aggravation as his blade severed the replacement. Damn these guys, they're way too fast for us, even if we get the drop on them. Agitation quickly turned into despair as the ANBU began his next spate of attacks, that was it, they were all dead... Kyomu stood entirely still as the spears rained down towards him. He only moved again when the spears slammed into him, slicing, piercing him and finally pinning his ruin to the ground in a mass of rent wood... wood? Kawarimi no Jutsu... barely managed to get out in time.
The figure which had fallen victim to the hail of spears was not Kyomu it seemed, but one of Yamato's own clones, specifically one of those which had used the Doton technique to raise the Earth Rampart. As soon as he was safe Kyomu sprang up into the air, diving straight for Yamato himself, he didn't need telling. I have to make this one count, if it doesn't work I'll be wide open and I don't think I'll have enough left for another replacement trick... Kori Shinchu and Kasumi Jusha really took their toll... to use it against so many... and have it broken through so easily... Killing clones was all well and good, but even that Kawarimi had used up more chakra than usual what with having to incorporate Yamato's clone, a much more complex shape than any other block of wood. In any case even if they destroyed all the clones this guy probably had the chakra reserves to create just as many more. One way or another it was ending soon enough. He had to disable this guy, not for the Village, damn sure not for the mission, but for those who were his own. This one's for Team Hanko!
With his sword in his right hand and balanced over his shoulder he was using his teeth to pull a knot tight at the end of the kunai in his left, with that done he flung it, now with a flash bomb attached to Yamato's feet. The knife dug in right dead centre between his feet and the bomb blazed into life, Kyomu had to squint to keep Yamato in focus. Spinning his body horizontally he brought his sword down towards the ANBU's silhouette with the full force of that rotational momentum. 'Get...out of my way!'

The mist was blown away by a fierce wind just in time for Akemi to see her and Kyomu’s attacks hit the jounin. However, her excitement over the feat died a split second after it formed. The deep ‘thunking’ sound of her kunai lodging into thick wood would have told her the attack failed even if she hadn’t seen Kyomu cleave into a piece of wood. “Shit,” she growled venomously under her breath. So much for that bright idea. The fact that they were severely out matched became apparent once more. “They’re just too damn strong!“ Akemi actually wondered if Kyomu had a stealth advantage in the first place. What were they even thinking? All the effort they were putting into this…was it really that pathetic to them? They were like candle flames trying to stay lit in a hurricane to them. These fighters could snuff them out at any second.
And yet they were…retreating? The team had the mist’s genin’s efforts on the rope and they just decided to leave just like that? Why - The Hyuuga! Of course they weren’t scared of the genin or even the kiri ANBU with them, Akemi realized. They hadn’t even been sent out to engage. That was for their own ANBU to handle. Those jounin dead set on making the entire effort of the mist worthless by taking back what had been stolen from them. Though Akemi couldn’t blame them, that didn’t stop the girl from unlatching her holsters on each leg and hurling kunai and shuriken in their wake. With her sharp eyes and accurate throws, she aimed for general areas in the lower body where they blurring figures. As useless as it was, maybe she’d score a lucky hit. All she needed was to be accurate enough to slow them or maybe even hinder them in a fight. They would still need to enter combat with mist’s own runner team. If a stray pain made them flinch in battle it’d be an advantage to Akemi’s side.
Her own efforts, however, were slowed. Then stalled a bit before coming to an abrupt stop as yet another mist rolled in. Thick and heavy as it was, Akemi couldn’t help the exasperated sigh that escaped her lips. “SERIOUSLY!?” If it hadn’t worked the other dozen times, how the hell was it suppose to make a difference now! If this was Kyomu’s again she was going to kick him in his nuts and beat his genjutsu using ass into the ground! What possible purpose could it serve anyway? So maybe she was jumping to conclusions. The only one that could manage in it effectively against the ANBU wood user was their own ANBU. Speaking of him, Akemi was going to give that prick a piece of her mind. Battle be damn. Wasn’t he suppose to be leading them? Instead, he left they three of them floundering to make a difference and was all one man showing it. The thoughts that he was more than likely preoccupied by the wood user seemingly escaped Akemi’s mind at that moment.
Akemi turned, scanning the area as best she could through the mist. Her ears strained for any sound only to be met with a mighty rumble. The signature sound of that ANBU’s wood techniques followed as something was surely growing rapidly. Akemi had a really bad feeling about this. “Heads up!” The feeling was justified when the shadows of spears lanced out of the mist to impale her. Eyes wide with fright, she backtracked desperately whist fumbling through hand seals. The wooden lances, seeking her death, caught up quickly. However, they would only pass through a plume of smoke. The former target, who had used Shunshin no Jutsu to escape the onslaught, gasped for breath as she skidded to a stop. The rush of chakra that fueled her escaped faded and a drained, fatigued feeling replaced it. Though rather chakra expensive there hadn’t been many other options. With the mist, she couldn’t see much of anything to switch with at the time. She’d manage though, being a weapon user meant less reliance on chakra so as long as she used more draining moves sparingly they wouldn’t affect her that much.
The girl hadn’t escaped completely unscathed though as scratches now littered her body and a few torn areas in her dress were apparent. They stung, but Akemi knew that worse damage could have befallen her just now. Taking another deep breath, she pulled herself back together only to curse. Her weapons were now scattered everywhere from the massive burst of speed she used as she had forgotten to close her shuriken holster. Normally this wouldn’t have been too much of a problem, but the following land shift and massive explosion rocked the area and scattered them everywhere. She covered her eyes to keep the debris from invading them and coughed as the smoke aggravated her lungs. Was this back up? No, she still couldn’t see anyone. Worse, with the mist clearing because of the explosion she could see that their ANBU member had left as well as the current state of the ANBU wood user. This sudden occurrence caused Akemi’s mind to reel with threats to that ANBU’s health.
“You BASTARD! You’re just going to leave us here to die?” However, while she wished to feel angry she couldn’t. Instead, she felt a beaten sadness. They were going to die on their first mission? That’s not how is was suppose to be. This isn’t what was suppose to happen! The shakiness at the beginning of battle returned. So heavy was the sense of dread that Akemi fell to her knees. Things happened everywhere and while the sounds of battle were suppose to be loud, her own breathing drowned out all of it. She watched with wide eyes as Kyomu moved to attack the ANBU perched on his hill. Then to Mitsuko, who looked directly at her and said something. Her name? What did he want her to do against this guy? What could she do!? Then he moved and she could see his path was toward one of the ANBU’s doppelgangers.
Wait. No, wait! Things were happening to fast! Akemi tried to move, to stand, but fell on her hands and knees once more. She didn’t have any weapons! And despite them being scatter all around her, it was nearly impossible to reach them when she tried. She couldn’t even keep a hold of one when she touched it. She stared helplessly back up as Mitsuko attacked. Then to the ANBU. “No, look at me. Look at me! Don’t kill him!” They had to live. She had to do something! Panicked and desperate, her arms moved on their own. Akemi’s hands slapped on the ground, summoning her chakra and wrapping it around some of her weapons. With her control exerted over them, they lifted. “Focus…focus!” Doing her best, she launched them using the Sôshûjin. Most of them fell short right then and there while others soared in various directions. Only a few managed to fire at the ANBU’s clone. And even then Akemi could tell the flight paths were off. This wasn’t good. She had to do something. All the pressure was on her. She couldn’t fail.
A glint caught her eye. String? She looked up again as Mitsuko closed in. There was her fuma shuriken from before. Across from her and ways off behind the clone. Akemi grabbed at it and pulled the wire with all her might, not caring as it cut into her fingers and blood ran down the line. Would it be too late? “Please work,” she begged.

Once the dust settled from his explosives, Kaibutsu cursed when he saw the opening in the barrier. He didn't know what happened, but it seemed the ninja had escaped his explosives. He noted the clones and the large...mountain...thing, and couldn't help but be impressed. Whoever this ninja was, he was one bad mother. But that spelled trouble for him and his still unknown, unknowing allies. Apparently the Konoha ANBU was able to use some sort of wood element, as noted by the large amounts of wood in the clearing and the huge ass cage surrounding their location. Kaibutsu had only three words to say.
"Yep, we're boned."
He glanced at the battlefield, noting current numbers. There was their ANBU, plus some Mizubunshin. A large genin who seemed to be the leader. A smaller genin with a large blade. And a- Kaibutsu recoiled. Was...was that Akemi? Squinting, he could tell that yes, it was indeed Akemi, the nice girl he had met in a restaurant. She was his waitress. He didn't remember much, but when he woke up at his home his family jewels seemed to be in pain. What happened, he didn't know, but he had planned on going back to ask her. This mission had gotten in the way though.
Before he could think further though, another mist seemed to roll in, obscuring most of his view of the battlefield. He could still make out some silhouettes, but that was about all. Damnit. I've got to help them. He knew he would more than likely die, but he wasn't one to leave his comrades to their deaths. Never would he be so cold or cruel. Besides, more than likely if the ANBU wanted, he would easily be tracked down and killed, and Kaibutsu was one to be chased and hunted like a fox. If anything he would go down like a rabid wolf. Or at least attempt to.
He sprung from his perch in the tree, sprinting towards the last known location of Akemi. When he make it there though, all he found was a large amount of wooden spikes, the remnants of one of that shinobi's attacks. He checked the spikes quickly, glad to not find her skewered among the planks, or that of the other two genin. His head snapped up, looking in the direction that he had just heard shouting. Jumping up, he spun his tanto into a reverse bladed position. Eyes narrowed through his mask, Kaibutsu decided it was time he entered the battle.
Seeing a silhouette, he approached with caution. It looked to be Akemi from it's short stature, but he couldn't be sure. If it was, she seemed to be frozen and unmoving, as if petrified with fear. He was worried, and felt himself grow nervous. Why would she be standing like that? From what he remembered off her, she had been quite confident with herself. He even had a very blurry memory of her proclaiming her dream to be a master weapon user and a Swordswoman of the Mist. So he had to be wrong, she must of been observing something he couldn't see. Yeah, that was probably it. Confidence renewed, he moved forward a bit.
"The floating mist swallows the leaves-" He started the code phrase to distinguish allies, but stopped when Akemi suddenly started to move, startling him slightly. He back up a little, tanto at the ready if she attacked him by mistake, or, Ryujin forbid, it not even be Akemi. With a motion, the other tanto was at the ready, just in case.

Another explosion and another wood clone was torn to pieces. One of the other Yamato jumped to quickly take their place.
Wood Release: Smothering Binding Technique
Another of Yamato's clones felt the dull thunk of kunai hitting its wooden body. His arms went out as well. If it could be helped he would just imprison and then render the Genin unconscious. After all, with the disappearance of the ANBU, they really stood no chance at victory. The remaining Yamato looked down to notice the other two Genin. The female had thrown a few weapons their way while the male did nothing offensive. Yamato figured this new body was the one who had planted the explosives. The remaining clones deflected the few weapons that had managed to make their way down and began making a few quick handseals.
Water Release: Tearing Torrent Technique
Each now had a rapidly spinning vortex of water in hand. Each pushed a hand forward to shoot this burst of water down at the children. The water rained down on them like bullets of rain. Luckily, this water technique was pressurized rather than cutting. They would survive it if it met the target. From the distant woods, Yamato sat, hand deeply embedded into a tree. His face hidden by a mask was concentrating deeply. His clones weren't having as easy a time with these Genin as he thought they would.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both Jounin's faces had an expression of infinite shock. Then those faces turned into logs. Of course any attack preceded by a loud laugh was going to fail miserably. The injured Jounin turned to face the direction they had substituted from and made some quick hand seals.
Fire Release:Fire Dragon Flame Bullet
This Jounin wasn't as powerful as he'd have liked to be, however, and the flames grew wildly out of control. They spread to the trees and the ground as well. The wind user smirked as his partner fell unconscious.
Wind Release:Great Breakthrough
The wind cut its way through to enhance the flames. During the spread of flames the wind user picked up his tired friend and went back to rushing towards the Hyuuga child. He had plenty of chakra left to grab the child and leave to meet Yamato-san.

Jun almost smiled when they tried to double-team him. ' Really? You're gonna use fire on me? Pathetic trash,’ He thought as he quickly shunshin'd behind the wind jounin and swung in a chop that should take the wind jounin out instantly.
At the same time a Jun-clone quickly moved to the unconscious fire Jounin and began tying him up with ninja wire focusing on his wrists and ankles first and then tying his arms to his sides so no fire jutsu could be performed.
Meanwhile in the cage one of the clones had changed all the notes from proximity to a form of dead-mans switch. He had ninja wire running from each note to him and each wire was under tension. If he was taken out an unholy firestorm would be caused when the tension vanished. Enveloping the entire half of the cage that Yamato was in. This was helped by the couple tags up on the sides of the cage near the top.
The clone knew that if he went down he could injure his genin team so he hid in the very corner of the cage away from all the fighting and waited. If the genin went down he would immediately dispel himself setting off the tags but until then he would let the 7 other clones do the work.
Speaking of the other seven clones 3 of them sacrificed himself to give the others enough water to use a jutsu. “WATER STYLE: WATER BULLET JUTSU” and they managed to make the bullets the right size so that 3 of them flew at the Tenzo in the air and the other 3 were split amongst the clones. Unfortunately this used up the chakra that the clones had left. 3 of the remaining 4 clones vanished in a pool of water each and the final (not including the tag-clone) clone used his last remaining chakra to fire a dozen more water bullets split evenly between the tenzo clones. Then he too vanished into a pool of water.

The longer Mitsuko soared through the air, the more the idea of him simply leaping into the air to destroy what were surely clones seemed like a stupid one. At the very least, it wasn't a very well calculated move on his part. Just telling Akemi to cover him was a rather vague command, and perhaps the whole move was a mistake. No, even if they are just clones, they're still a threat. Sure he might be able to make more of them, but I'll have eliminated a threat for at least a few seconds, and hopefully Kyomu will have struck him down by then. If not, there's no way this ends well. And that chance was equally bleak, seeing as it was still a genin versus an ANBU, and surprise or not, Mitsuko had learned from experience that a genin simply had no chance against an ANBU. Not even a ray of hope was there. And yet they fought on, in an obviously futile attempt to grasp victory or even retain life. It was impossible, and they all knew it? So how did they keep on? For children, the whole thing was rather uncharacteristic, especially for Mitsuko. Thoughts for a later time, though.
Fortunately, considering the fragile frame of mind the boy was in, his and his water clone's attack landed, severing the arms of and destroying the wood clone above. This relatively minor victory quickly morphed itself into an overblown celebration. It was as if he didn't really believe his attack would connect in the first place, and the shock of actually destroying the clone had turned it into something more than it was. As he followed through with the kunai, both Mitsuko and his bunshin clung to the top of the wood prison, just in time to watch yet another explosion destroy yet another clone. For a fight against an ANBU, this whole thing was beginning to get rather repetitive. Still, it seemed that progress was being made. At the same time, that second explosion confirmed the intentions of the first, as this one could not have been aimed at anyone other than the Leaf ninja. So it seemed that they had a hidden ally, which was rather reassuring. Perhaps it was another ANBU or maybe a Jounin, who would hopefully be more useful than the ANBU who they had been assigned to. The one who absolutely refused to do anything even vaguely resembling leadership. In fact, the man hadn't spoken a word to them the whole time. Asshole-ninja had just been upgraded to Douche-ninja. Mitsuko, a genin, had shown more leadership even when outmatched than that man, who, in his opinion, didn't even deserve to be a chuunin much less an ANBU.
Looking down from his perch, although upside down, he could analyze the situation underneath him. Making sure not to fall by grasping the branches with his hands and clinging with his legs, and as he stared down, he counted his teammates. Kyomu disappeared to go attack... Craning his neck, he noticed there were still two figures underneath him. Or at least, he should have. Unless this is that hidden ally... Looking closer, he confirmed it was not Kyomu, and that it was another ninja, and because he wasn't attacking, it was clear he was an ally. Perhaps the one who had set off the explosions. To his horror though, the man was...a boy. Their ray of hope turned out to be another genin. Fantastic.
Mitsuko looked away without noticing that Akemi, his cover, was on her knees, not covering him. The flying kunai would have been reassuring if there had been more of them. The few she had thrown were not going to be adequate, and yet, they struck down one of the wood clones. Rather impressive, he had to admit. But out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the ANBU, or his clone, had sent a wood technique his way. Trying his best to free himself from his grip on the ceiling of the prison, the terror finally caught up to him.
No, damn it... Those were the only thoughts that registered. There was no time to think or place blame, or to feel bad for himself. As he began to drop from the top of the prison, he knew that the tendrils would catch up to him before he fell. There was no time for a replacement or flicker technique, and he lacked the chakra or energy for such techniques, even if he had had time for them. Or perhaps he did? He wasn't quite sure, at that moment. Either way, he had resigned himself to his fate.
The tendrils quickly surrounded him in a prison and began to tighten and bind him. The boy though, put up no resistance to the capture. Maybe it'd just be easier to be beaten. There was no hope, no way to win, why drag out the suffering? The branches wrapped and squeezed the boy in midair, and the crunching and snapping sounds from within the boy incited a scream of pain and terror, as the pain shot through his entire body. It was unbearable, but it only lasted for a little while. Soon he began to fade out, losing consciousness. His eyes scanned for his teammates below, but he could barely register any thoughts. Before he blacked out, only one thing ran through his mind.
I'm sorry, father...I failed you after all. There was no escape, it would all end right there. And then darkness fell...

As the flash faded and his attack struck home Kyomu thought for one glorious moment that he had done it, his elation was short lived though as he came face to face with the obliterated clone, he should have known, of he could pull that trick then what stopped the Leaf ANBU from doing the selfsame thing? His ears filled with a rumbling, rushing sound, he knew by now what it was. One of his Mokuton ninjutsu, but where? Kyomu's question was quickly answered as he glanced over his shoulder, he rounded quickly, swinging his sword and managing to sever one of the tendrils before another snaked around his hand, clamping down on and crushing his wrist. His grip slackened, his sword fell, clattering down the side of the ANBU's massive Doton jutsu and to the ground far below.
That's it, I can't form seals, I can't wield a sword, all my options are exhausted and I'm... I'm...
'Akemi!' He yelled out her name at the top of his lungs, it was the first time he had ever used her given name, now was no time to stand on ceremony. He found himself yanked forward into the constricting mass of limbs, he scrunched his eyes up and gritted his teeth so as not to scream, he had to.. had to make sure... 'Run away!' He could hold himself back no longer, tipping his head back he screamed his pain out to the sky. He screamed until he became short of breath and his head simply lolled to one side, supported only by the nest of limbs binding him. His eyes fell on Akemi far below him and the mysterious figure that had joined her in the confusion, considering that they weren't trying to murder each other he could only be an ally. You... whoever you are... you'd better make sure that Izayoi-chan gets away... or I wont ever forgive you. Mitsuko-san and I spent our lives for that reason, someone has to survive... and become three times the legend for all of us.
The idle thought of his pain addled mind brought a soft smile to his lips, he lifted his head only slightly as if to see them off only for it to then slump forward as he lost out to the agony which racked his entire body. I couldn't live long enough to find a dream worth striving towards... Kyomu's last thoughts before he lapsed into unconsciousness were unsurprisingly of his family. I've... let everybody down.

Akemi watched Mitsuko attack with baited breath she watched. Contradicting her lack of breathing was her heart that thrashed furiously within her chest at the reckless maneuver. A happy hitch in her breath came when the boy actually took down the clone. Akemi couldn't help but feel an sense of relief even if it was a small and relatively minor feat. Despite her efforts that dread kept coming back to torment her. Even if she could fight it off, it was putting the entire team in danger. She needed to toughen up and show this wood using cheater what a real weapon specialist could do. For a moment, the girl didn’t know if she could be or had been of any use at all during this whole battle. The girl shook her head relentlessly for a brief moment, desperate to shake the doubt from her mind. That wasn’t a option!
She’d never be able to live it down if she just fell this like a wussy weakling, even if she was a genin. After all, wasn’t fighting and being taken down more honorable than running away like some coward and getting cut down while you retreated? The best option was to fight with everything one had, hopeless or not, and take the opening to escape when it presented itself. With that thought in mind, she reeled in her fuma shuriken as he mind grasped at anything. Outmatched in stealth, strength, speed, chakra, and pure technique there was nothing they could do against him. This wasn’t the time to be playing fair. Akemi needed a dirty tactic. When some guy was bigger and stronger, you kicked him in the nuts and watched the asshole fall like a lead weight!
Catching her windmill like weapon by its center as it passed next to her, she already had a thought in mind. However, for it to work she needed to know where the original would be or at least his general area. And that was not apparent so it was pretty much useless. But when in need any idea was a good one so it didn’t spot Akemi from rummaging though the medical pouch located on her lower back. This is what a person did to make it, to survive. She needed to hit this guy low. Something not even he would expect or at least something so outrageously stupid he wouldn‘t think she‘d have the gall to do it. And hit him hard enough for him to take the time to recover so that they could escape. And the girl was determined to do this or die trying. Akemi might have been dead last, but she wasn’t a fool. This was impossible for them the way it was going. And she doubted that their own ANBU would be making much of a difference.
Quick precision allowed her to wrap the kunai with a few explosive notes. Then tied a few to the wire that was attaching the kunai to her windmill shuriken. And finally, she slapped every last one of her explosive notes on the fuma shuriken itself. “This puppy was going to make a really big boom,” Akemi practically cackled the words inside her mind. Set, prepared, or whatever some wished to call it. Akemi was a girl with a plan, trump card, or death wish if depending on the vocabularies involved in labeling the tactic. Do or die time…hopefully without the latter.
Akemi looked up just in time to see Mitsuko swallowed up by wood. “Hey you hot shot bastard! Don’t you dare fucking die like some chump!” she screamed. They couldn’t let themselves be overwhelmed yet. There was still a chance…right? However, her scream meant nothing as Mitsuko remained caged. “Dammit! Kyo-” But like Mitsuko, upon turning to her other teammate, she would find he two was being attacked by branches. Another scream escaped her mouth, strained and a mix of different emotions. Fear, anger, sadness, and a bit of disbelief. “Akemi! …RUN AWAY!” The words should have motivated her to escape. To run for help or leave her team to die. And as the last wooden prison moved into to take her as well…she did the opposite.
“FUCK THAT!” They were escaping together. She wasn’t going to return without them. And as morbid as that sounded given the situation, it sounded better than giving up or returning to a jounin sensei alone. Folding up her fuma shuriken and slipping it in her obi she went through the same hand seals as before. “Shunshin no Jutsu…” The world around her blurred as her chakra flooded body pushed itself out of the way. Nor did she stop. Legs pumping with all the strength she could muster, Akemi pulled the shuriken from her back and unlatched while pumping chakra into the weapon and explosive notes. She could make this shot easy! Akemi, future weapon master, didn’t miss!
The fuma shuriken whistled through the air in a wide arc over the branch holding Kyomu before a subtle shift in Akemi’s grip and wire control made it circle the wood and veer off and tighten around the branch holding Mitsuko. It bit deep into the bark around the branch’s middle. Akemi hurled the kunai still in her grip at the point where steel wire and explosive notes touched Kyomu‘s branch prison also around the middle area. Akemi wouldn’t want the two getting caught in the explosion himself. Hell, the girl was already pushing it at its current distance, but hoped the bindings would serve as a shield as well. All the while, the girl sprinted out the remained burst of chakra flooding her body till there was none left, traveling in the direction that the wooden prisons would be dropped if not blown off in.

A look of horror appeared on Kaibutsu's face when he saw the other two genin caught so easily. He could almost feel the crushing pressure of the wood from here. Surely both boys were dead. He looked Akemi, who he noticed seemed to be watching the spectacle. He actually hadn't received his team, something odd but not unheard of, before he had been sent out on this mission, so he couldn't imagine what it felt like seeing the ones you worked so hard with crushed before your eyes.
Kaibutsu was surprised when Akemi yelled and disappeared in a shunshin, but his surprise was quickly thrown aside for dodging. He could hear the water surging towards him and he flashed through handsigns, diving into the earth with his Hiding Like A Mole Jutsu. He knew the earth wouldn't save him long, but at least he had more cover here. Besides, he wouldn't be underground long. He moved through the ground quickly, dodging the masses of roots that had grown from the ANBU's weird attacks.
He popped out of the ground near one of the wooden coffins, hoping to see if maybe the boy was still alive and if he could save him, which he doubted both of. It was then that he noticed something. A sizzling sound, like that of an explosive tag. His eyes widened in horror under his mask. He didn't know what to do, something that didn't often happen to Kaibutsu. He quickly made up his mind though, and turned and ran. He knew he couldn't escape unscathed, but maybe he could survive the blast. The dark part of him locked away in the back of his mind told him he couldn't, but that only caused him to pump chakra into his body, his hand coming up into a handseal for a replacement. He knew though, he wouldn't be quick enough to pull it off.
(Very bad post, ya'll, so sorry. My next one will be better, trust me. (Even if in my next I'm getting taken out, lol))

The wind Jounin fell quickly, feeling a chop at his neck. Still, he could fall knowing he had done all he needed to do. The trees around the area began to twist and attempt to enclose Jun. Yamato pulled himself from one of the trees and placed a spare arm inside of it. This ANBU was tough, but no ninja could dodge a surprise attack from all directions. Finally, the Leaf would win.
Back in the cage, the Yamato clones were wearing thin. They only had the chakra for one more technique if they were to sustain the wood prisons. As an explosive tag went sailing their way accompanied by a water style attack. Most of the Yamato clones reverted to their natural state so that the next technique would stand a chance at working.
Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall
Darkness encompassed the remaining two Yamato clones as well as the Genin. He had blocked them just in case a stray water bullet hit him. To his horror, Yamato heard sizzling on the other side of his strong barrier. The explosion was quite massive. It didn't help that he was hiding behind a very flammable shield with a trail of very flammable wood that led back to his hands. The Yamato clone not holding the boys nodded and jumped forward to reinforce the prison allowing the other to escape. The prison bearing Yamato jumped down and down from his tower in the skies. Pieces of wood and earth fell by his side signifying that the last clone remained no more. Still, the threat was over. The ANBU could only free the Genin from a clone and since the real ninja had moved on, the Genin were a non-factor. The rest of the mission lay in the hands of Yamato. He was without back up and very drained on chakra, but at the very least he had beaten the Mist ninja who challenged him.

Jun swore as the tree's surrounded him. Knowing that he had to act or be captured he quickly slapped several dud-explosive notes to the leaf jounin's chests. Then he knelt and placed his hands on them as if he was ready to charge them with chakra. If he did not only would the duds 'explode' it would also in turn set off the REAL flashbombs he'd placed on the bodies. Not only would it give the appearance of being a threat of "If you don't give back my men I'll kill them" but if Tenzo didn’t fall for his bluff there was still the blinding effect of the flashbombs to allow for Jun to vanish and save the genin from the clones.
By now the ship was well away and would be difficult for the leaf to reclaim without resorting to either war or Diplomacy. If Jun was caught however he faced weeks of torture in the famous Ibiki’s cells. The genin may or may not be used to ransom the Hyuuga child but Jun was destined for torture then execution. It was the way of the elemental countries.
‘I will not be captured. I will not betray my country. I will not lose!!!’Jun thought to himself as he shouted his bluff, “Touch me and your comrades’ lives will end. I don’t want to do this if I don’t have to so give back the genin and let us leave and I promise nothing will happen to them.” He prayed it worked but in case it didn’t he prepared to pull his headband over his eyes and operate with zero-visibilty.
---------------
Meanwhile the water clone that had all the explosive notes attached sighed. He would disperse himself but the resulting explosion could kill the two genin not in wood prisons and maybe even the ones encased in wood. It was very flammable afterall. Luckily this clone was one of the original clones created by Jun and hadn’t used a jutsu yet. Creating a clone he settled in to wait.
The new clone drew his sword and silently stalked towards the wood clone that was maintaining the two wood prisons. He couldn’t let the Genin suffer. When he got close enough he whispered “Let’s do this.” With that he sprang into action creating several illusionary clones and readying a substitution if it was nessecary before using body flicker to appear next to the wood clone with an upswing of his blade that would hopefully separate the clone from the prisons. At the same time several of the illusionary clones took a swing aimed at varying parts of the wood clone's anatomy.

Post by Akemi Izayoi on Aug 28, 2010 3:05:42 GMT -5
The explosion that resulted from Akemi’s reckless move was massive. Unprepared for the sheer force behind the concussive wall that followed, Akemi quickly became acquainted with a sense of…hurt. It was like being blindsided by a trap. Akin to a massive log slamming into you from the rear. Even at her top speed chakra enhanced sprint the girl was still picked up by the blast and hurled forward. The world spun and a sense of vertigo claimed her. The sense of nausea was putrid and rank, but she kept the bile from escaping her stomach. The girl was faintly aware of the way her body skipped along the ground. In fact, it was hard to tell when she actually stopped. Since the world was still spinning it took her a moment to realize that she had actually been in one spot for a while.
Realizing that she was stationary, the girl promptly emptied her stomach all over the ground in front of her. Blearily, Akemi looked up to see the damage she managed to inflict. Charred ruins of wood still blazed strongly, but the girl wasn’t entirely sure if all her goals had been accomplished. The fires were obvious, but with the world still rocking like she was on a boat and with the darkness creeping into the edges of her vision it was still hard to paint an accurate picture. Gasping for air, Akemi tried to shake the haze from her mind…and regretted it instantly. The bile rose in her throat once more, but she swallowed it back down and pushed herself up. Grimly, she noted that at least she managed to keep her lunch on the ground and off her form.
As the ground settled down and stopped moving she saw that the prisons were still holding her teammates. Burning and in bad condition, but still keeping the two boys trapped with unknown strength. She failed? She couldn’t have. That was her best shot. That was everything she had left. That sole attack was suppose to make a difference and yet she still stood alone on a scarred battle field. Only one weapon left, no tricks, and most likely no time to bandage up herself. Not only that either as Akemi could feel the drain of chakra weighing her down and unlike before she couldn’t just shake it off with little effort. Frankly, she was a mess. A double edged sword that attack had apparently been. She didn’t need to look at herself to see the throbbing cuts and bruises as well as the dull heat that came from minor burns. Maybe even a small concussion if her difficulty to focus was any clue.
Yet the girl could still see the wood user drop from his self made tower a ways off. Well, she thought it was the wood user. Details were difficult to pick out. Her ragged breathing picked up, becoming labored and quick. She was still alone and there was no way she could take this guy out in her prime condition. Certainly she wouldn’t stand a chance as a mess like this. Still, shaky steps brought her closer to his position. Agonizingly slow and with nothing but the sword on her back she closed the distance. The dull hum of her blade being unleashed from its confinements sounded as she drew closer. Were things getting darker? “Stay awake, dammit,” she told herself in hopes of the words giving her renewed vitality and a second wind.
She had to fight him! She had to win! They had to escape! She wasn’t a failure! The thoughts raced through her sluggish mind. Finally, she came to a stop a couple of feet in front of where she’d seen the wood user. Had he moved? Perhaps she had already been knocked out or dead. No…it wouldn’t hurt this much if that happened. Akemi's nearly lifeless arm kept its iron grip on the hilt. It took just about all her strength to bare the weapon and point it at the man. For some reason her other arm didn’t respond and only then did she notice that it felt limp. Broken? A stray glance revealed what might have been one of her own kunai sticking out of it. She probably fell on it or slid over it when she was blown away. However, with a hiss of pain the girl brought it to grip her sword.
She tried to speak to him, but it came out as a mesh of sounds that was more of a jumped garble of syllables. Once more she tried, “Let… go…” Stories of Konoha’s peaceful nature, yet ruthless strength came to mind. Her legs felt like jello and the grip that held her sword was slippery. Much to her outright shame, she could feel tears crawling down her cheeks. What kind of ninja was she? Akemi was terrified or this man, his power, and everything he stood for. The guard of her sword made a dull ‘click’ like sound as her grip tightened. How was she going to attack? She couldn’t even move! “Let my friends go!” She cried, taking a wild swing from her stationary position.
Pathetic…the swing nearly threw her off her feet. Worse, the smoke was beginning to make breathing harder and even sent her into a coughing fit. The mission was over. It was over a long time ago. She just wanted to get Mitsuko and Kyomu back then go home. They were counting on her and she had to save them! A single burst of determination fueled a few stumbling steps forward. A sloppy swing resulted and she fell, out of energy and barely clinging onto conciousness. All she had the energy to do is lay there and weep. While the grip on her sword was still strong the weapon was to heavy to swing any more. She was a failure...

Kaibutsu's shunshin worked. Well, sort of. He had managed to dodge the brunt of the explosion, but the concussive force still managed to hit him before he had completely finished the jutsu. The result sent him careening through the air, only to stop rather painfully as his back hit a tree. He fell the couple of feet to the ground, landing in a sitting position against the bark.
He brought his hand slowly to the front of his face, noticing how blurry it looked. It was almost like the world was bleeding away. Unfortunately, his attempt to focus on his appendage forced the contents of his stomach to force their way to his mouth. Using his hand, he quickly removed his now cracked mask. Turning to the side, he let the bile flow onto the ground. Once he had finished, he looked toward the now smoking field. He could see where Akemi was, but his blurry eyes didn't allow him to make out her features.
She seemed to be moving unsteadily towards another figure. Most likely the ANBU. Kaibutsu also saw that the wood prisons still stood. He was surprised, that had been a hell of an explosion. At that thought, he couldn't help but let a grin slide onto his face. Akemi had been the one to trigger it.
"Crazy bitch..." His voice came out in a raspy whisper. "...I think I'm in love."
He tried to stand, but only made it halfway up before a sharp pain in his side forced him back to the ground. His hand moved to the area, where he could feel something hot and stick. Moving his hand a bit, he also felt the tip of something sharp. He moved his hand to his face, observing what could possibly have gotten on him. It was red. Blood. Now that he thought about it, he had an uncomfortable feeling in his lower back. Moving the same hand to his back, where he could feel...something, he felt his hand touch wood. He grasped it and pulled. His face contorted in pain, but the wood held firm.
Looking up, he noticed the place he impacted seemed to hold a missing branch. Probably the one the was now buried in his side. Just his luck. Once again, he attempted to stand, and managed to make his way to his feet this time. Observing the battle field once again, he noticed that Akemi was now on the ground, the ANBU standing over her. He tried to start his way over to them, planning to in the very least get the attention of their enemy off of her, but the world suddenly started spinning.
"Sorry..." Was the last thing Kaibutsu said before he passed out.

The Yamato clone felt a series of blades strike it, but it was finally over. Sweet relief as far as it was concerned. The Genin were all out and this was simply a clone of the ANBU. This mission was as good as over. Meanwhile back with the real Yamato, he felt the same sentiments as his clone. Despite his tendency to spare children, he felt none of the same qualms about adults especially those from his village. They were responsible for their own faults. Still, the Third Hokage would not appreciate their deaths and no Konohagakure ninja would ever aim to displease the Third Hokage. He was the kindest man they knew.
"The mission."
Yamato pulled a quick 180 and as he did, branches came rushing from all directions. The trees were out of control. Some where headed towards Jun, some towards the Jounin, and even a few towards Yamato. He smiled. The chaos of the branches would cover him for a while as he made his way towards the Hyuuga child and they would give the illusion that he was ruthless. The last ninja you want to encounter is a ruthless ninja. This would all be over soon enough.

Jun swore when Tenzo commanded the trees to go nuts. Activating the flash-bombs to hopefully blind the enemy ANBU in case he was still looking and quickly pulled the headband over his eyes and took off using the sound of the growing wood and his agility to duck and weave between branches. He knew that if he went after Tenzo he’d lose. He was too low on chakra to fight the superior fighter. He could only fight via his mist-stealth right now and that worked best during an ambush not when the enemy was running after someone. Knowing there was no more he could do for the sake of the mission he turned and rushed to the prison. If the mission was over he had to make sure that the genin sent with him would survive.
Meanwhile the clone was busy cutting the kids in the prison free. After freeing them he made another two clones to carry them. This drained him but it wasn’t enough to burst him. Knowing he had to disable the explosive notes before the other, stronger, clone could help he quickly moved around disabling explosive notes and when he found and disabled the last one there was one of the genin nearby it. He was impaled through his side with a broken branch. “Shit,” The clone swore as he moved in and gently removed it. Thankfully the branch was straight and came out easy without any breaks. Knowing he was no surgeon he wrapped the genin in bandage tightly and picked him up. Rendezvousing with the clone who had created him he told that clone that it was all clear and they went to find the final genin.
Noticing she was down but obviously tired he lifted her and allowed the clone that had patched up Kaibutsu to pop himself and then Jun rushed off towards the next closest port town. ‘Even if they won’t let me charter a boat because I’m a Mist shinobi as a shinobi I can and WILL take a boat by force if I must,’ Jun thought to himself as him and his clones moved towards the town where it had been decided Jun would head for if he was forced to be left behind by the first boat.
Arriving in town he quickly moved towards a dock and after seeing leaf shinobi in the town knew it wasn’t worth the risk to attempt to charter a boat. Despite being only genin in the town with their Jounin sensei Jun knew he couldn’t handle a fight. Slipping onto a boat after seeing the owner step off he quickly ignited the engine and began powering towards Mizu no Kuni. After setting the Autopilot he moved back towards the clones and dismissed them after getting each of the 4 genin into a secure position so they wouldn’t move or fall off. Checking Kaibutsu’s wound he prayed the child would make it back in time. Genin weren’t meant for such missions and it had evidently taken its toll on the genin group.
Hours later they finally arrived back in Mizu and Jun’s chakra had recovered enough for him to create 4 new clones and begin the trek back to Kirigakure.
