Akemi slowly, stealthily, moved within the shadows. Like the ideal ninja she aspired to be, her petite form left no sound in its wake. Not the slightest of disturbances gave her away. Tables, chairs, and any other obstacle that confronted her were met with a swift dodge. Like water she flowed around them with a fluid grace years beyond her time. Then she spotted it. The unsuspecting victim who’s filth she would purge. Every other area was clean, but here were that...that abomination’s taint seeped into the areas around it. Just this one spot was the cause of so much trouble. And she, the great Akemi, would destroy it and all it stood for.
The girl increased her speed toward it. She could feel victory within her grasp. Nothing was out of her reach. There was no challenge her might couldn’t conquer. Here, now, she would end it! Carefully so not to give away her position, a hand reached behind her to retrieve the weapon of choice. She could smell the foul odor as she grew closer. The girl was right on top of this waste that stained the rest of the lands. Then she attacked swiftly, the victim would never know what happened.
Squeek. Squeek. Squeek. As her mighty weapon cut into its being. Then with a Scritch-scratch~ she erased its life. “MUHUHAHAHAHAHA~” Akemi’s cackling laughter rang throughout the lands as she purged the filth from it. Nothing could match her power! “WAHA-”
“AKEMI!” A startled “eep” escaped the young lady’s lips as the shout took her by surprise. Then she lost her balance. The scrub brushes that were anchored to her feet with chakra slipped, her will and control no longer holding them there. They shot from under her feet faster than thrown kunai and flew to ricochet off the wall thus leaving the wooden floor to catch the small girl. “AKEMI, DID YOU CLEAN IN THERE LIKE I ASKED?” A sigh escaped the girl as her mother’s voice killed her awesome moment that came with the destruction of filth. She had to make things seem more lively somehow. It was just so boring as the day was so slow. Hardly anyone had visited the restaurant all day and it was even after noon, usually when the rush came. “AKEMI!?”
“YEAH, MOM, I CLEANED IT!” She finally shouted back as she scrambled up and attempted to collect what was left of her pride. She shuffled over to her ‘weapon’ the cleaning dispenser and picked it up before looking around. Empty came to mind first. However, it was more of a feeling than actual truth. She had propped a few chairs on their table to clean easier, but there was an occasional customer here and there. Luckily, there made no mention of her embarrassing fall. They were probably too busy stuffing their faces with food to notice anyway. Not that she blamed them, her parents and sister were really good cooks. Still, it was so boring.
“Stay at the door and greet the customers,” she mutter to herself. “What customers!” Besides, they could find their own seat right? They didn’t need her to show them about when there wasn’t even a rush.

Kaibutsu sighed as he walked down one of the many winding streets of Kirigakure. He had just finished his 'training' session with his mother, and needless to say he was starving. He stopped for a second, looking longingly at one of the hotsprings, before his gut loudly protested the thoughts running through his mind. Again he sighed, being denied his favorite pass time. By his own body no less!
He continued on his trek through the streets, trying to spot a place that looked suitable for his eating needs. While any place of eating would of sated his hunger, his gut was leading him today and would tell him the place it wished to eat in due time. Some would find it a little...odd that he was listening to his stomach as if it was another entity, but to Kaibutsu his stomach had always seemingly had a mind of its own, and he had always taken the saying 'listen to your gut' a little too seriously.
Suddenly, a delicious smell entered his nose, and his guy seemingly pulled him into a nearby restaurant. He looked around, noting that there seemed to be little in the way of customers. Why would that be? Such a great smell had drafted from the restaurant! Had his nose been lying and the truth was that the food was quite horrible? Well, he was here, and it was too late to turn back, so he decided to give the place a chance before leaving.
He removed his mask, knowing it was not polite to wear such things in any establishment, and waited to be seated. As he waited, he noted the young girl by a cleaning dispenser. 'Man, janitors just keep getting younger and younger.' It was then he noticed her talking to herself. 'Weirder and weirder, too...'

Akemi had been occupied with glancing about for the scrub brushes that had been 'misplaced' previously when she finally noticed the newcomer finally stepping in. The girl glanced at him out the corner of her eyes as he hesitated while setting the cleaning dispenser on a nearby table. She wasn’t going to waste her time if he suddenly had a change of heart and left. However, maybe he could provide a source of entertainment. Then again, he had the feel of a ninja about him. Not many ninja were all that talkative. Well, there were exceptions like when they were drunk or braggarts, but this guy was probably somewhere around her age. So Akemi didn’t really expect him to have any extravagant tales of previous missions unless he happen to be a story teller.
Either way, he looked like he was here to stay for a meal. The thought brightened her up a bit. Taking an order was better than cleaning any day. Without a second thought, she grabbed the cleaning dispenser and flung it. The bottle soared into a nearby supply closet where it slid into place. With a inner cry of victory at her successful shot, she wasted little time in brushing off the stray dirt and slapping her game face on. Her red dress was still slightly damp, but it was still presentable. So with a smile on her face she walked over and greeted him. “Hi, I’m Akemi and I’ll be your waitress,” she said the line with a bit of cheer slipping into her voice. The reprieve from cleaning did that. She beckoned him to follow while she pulled a few menu from her waist.
Stopping at a table that had its chairs down, she held out the menu. “Today’s special is ramen, but feel free to order whatever you like. Would you like some water? Younger shinobi are allowed sake, but have to have their ninja registration.” She finished, waiting for him to take a seat and reply.

Kaibutsu's mind seemed to stop as Akemi started to approach him. Why, you may ask? Simple. He couldn't comprehend how short this girl was. He was able to tell by her facial features that she was around his age, so when she walked over to him and he towered over her like some behemoth, he was surprised. Short. Not short as in a couple of inches shorter than average. She was very short. Exceedingly short. The level of her shortness was almost uncomprehendable.
But, then again, Kaibutsu tended to exaggerate things. The girls voice broke him out of his funk, and he greeted her with a smile and a nod. "Kaibutsu Gakidou. Nice to meet you!" He responded, since it was polite when someone gave you their name to respond in kind. Even if it was likely you would never meet that person again. And politeness, even with his perverted ways, had been drilled into his head.
Suddenly, his mind once again froze in confusion. Waitress? Wasn't she the janitor? Damn, these people must be monsters, having this kid work so much. No wonder she was so skinny. Like, mind bogglingly skinny. So skinny - He snapped out of this thought when she stopped at a table and he almost ran into her. Something he feared may of broke the short, skinny, girl if he had. What could he say? Both of those effects of one person made them look fragile.
He sat in a chair, listening intently to the girl. He sat and thought for a second, looking over the menu Akemi had given him. "Well, ramen sound fine. As for what type, do you have a suggestion?" He asked, looking to the girl with a charming smile on his face. While he may of been mostly into older women, he couldn't help but admit the girl was cute. Even with her...short-comings.
"As for drink...I guess I could have some sake." After he said this, he started fishing in his pockets, eventually producing his ninja registration. Truthfully, he had never had sake, but he decided now was the best time to try it. He always found it funny how the normal laws stating a minor couldn't drink was wavered for shinobi. Old enough to kill, old enough to drink was the general consensus. He didn't mind though. More fun for him and his friends.

Akemi fished out something to take his order with and a slip of paper before turning to the boy, unaware that he nearly ran into her moments before. Only then did she actually get a good look at him as he sat down. Kaibutsu Gakidou, he called himself. Akemi had to admit, she rarely saw such vivid red hair before. She liked it and wondered if she could die her own hair that shade as it was one of her favorite colors. Then again, she wasn’t much of one for taking on the hassle it involved. And if she dyed it, she might be held to style it or some other nonsense when she just really didn’t care for such fretting over appearance. His eyes were pretty damn cool as well. Never had she seen such colors nor had she ever come across a person with different colored eyes. Was it a trick of the light or something? Maybe it was a disease or some rare kekkei genkai.
Even as she thought this over, the girl still paid attention to Gakidou. She was awesome like that, multitasking was both a gift and a blessing when she found herself taking multiple and sometimes complicated orders. “We have pork, beef, miso, and shrimp,” she answered. The guy was simple enough. Akemi did get annoyed with the picky ones that took forever to pick something, but she was impatient like that. It was this impatience that didn’t want to stand there while he fretted over flavor either. And since all the ramen flavors were good, she‘d just order for him. “Try the miso,” she offered, scribbling it down while completely missing the charm that came from his smile. Saved her the trouble of him being allergic to shrimp or something equally stupid that could ruin her day.
And of course he’d get sake. She plucked the registration from his grip to get a better look. Looked real and you couldn’t forge one of these things willy nilly. If anything the ninja would be a spy before some non-ninja produced one. Odd that she didn’t recognize him though, he graduated the academy at the same time as her apparently. Or he could just be the same age. Guess it didn’t really matter in the end. It passed so she gave it back to him before adding sake on the side. With that she plucked one of a chopstick from their spot at her side and tied the small note around it in one deft movement before flicking it. The wooden utensil cut through the air before sticking into the wall near the opening to the kitchen with a low ‘thunk’ sound. Her father would hear it and he’d relay the order and give her a notice when it was done.
Until then, she had some time to kill. “Your order will be ready in a bit.” She moved to walk away and take advantage of the freedom his arrival bestowed upon her before something caught her attention. Out the corner of her eyes she spotted a brush from before, sitting right there next to the leg of his table. Best way to look for something was not looking for it sometimes. She smoothed her dress and kneeled to pick it up. “Now if the other one would pop up somewhere.”

Kaibutsu nodded. "Miso it is!" He said enthusiastically. Sometimes waitresses would try to swindle him by making him get the most expensive thing on the menu, but according to the menu here Miso was actually one of the cheapest. Hence how he knew she either liked it herself, or just plain didn't care what he got. He didn't mind, though her not trying to con him gave her a few points in his mind.
He was glad she didn't ask for more proof that he was a ninja, which he would not of been able to produce. He didn't carry around ten different things to prove he was ninja simply because there wasn't really a need to. Not to mention that was a potential security risk. Hell, even carrying the registration around was a risk. Usually the head-band was enough, but apparently not in this place.
At the thought of his headband, he moved his hand up to it quickly, making sure it was still in place concealing his scar. He didn't know why, but he was very conscious of the large scar across his neck. When he felt the cool metal he almost sighed in relief. He was so used to its weight he barely noticed it anymore, which brought about the need to always make sure it was there.
Kaibutsu was a little annoyed when she seemingly ignored one of his best assets. Many a girl had swayed to his charming smile, something he had prided himself on. So when someone ignored it, especially this short, skinny girl, he took it as a silent challenge. A challenge he wouldn't, NO, couldn't deny! His pride as man would be destroyed if he failed! He wouldn't FAIL!
Watching as she threw the chopstick like one would a kunai, he realized she was ninja. Or in the very least had ninja skills. Not anything odd in a shinobi village, but definitely odd to see from such a diminutive girl. It was then he noticed the band around her neck. How he hadn't noticed before, he didn't know. Kaibutsu knew he couldn't judge a book by its cover, but it was hard when the book was more of a checkbook. He noticed her aim was spot on, and couldn't help but be impressed. He would of been hard-pressed to have such pin-point accuracy.
A nod and another smile was his response to Akemi's words, but Kaibutsu promised he would win this challenge when she returned with his order. Suddenly, he noticed her looking at something, and noticed the small brush under the table. 'Ah ha!' Here was his chance to woo her. He bent quickly, his longer arm reaching the brush long before hers. He lifted up, his arm outstretched to hand the brush to her. He gave her the most charming smile he could muster from within himself. When he spoke, it was with the most charming voice he believed he had ever used.
"Looking for this, Akemi-chan?" As he looked at her, his multi-colored eyes shined in the sunlight coming through the windows. Needless to say, Kaibutsu was quite proud of himself...

Akemi was slightly taken aback when the brush was snatched away before she could grab it. This did little more than to aggravate her. Just what was he trying to pull? As a girl that was well acquainted with mockery of her faults, she wouldn’t have been to surprised by him trying to play “keep away” with the brush. However, she restrained herself. Jumping to conclusions and kicking customers would lead to a swift punishment dealt by her mother. Something that Akemi did not want to have to bring upon herself. Though, before she could think further, the girl would find that he was actually trying to help her. So he was one of the nice guys it seemed. He didn’t have to go out of his way to help her, but he did so anyway. It was a pleasant difference to a rude customer. The girl’s smile brightened a bit in response.
She stood slowly, grasping brush as she looked up. Akemi was greeted with the sight of dazzling eyes that practically gave off their own light. Complemented with the gentle caring smile that portrayed so much charm it was surely a sight. Was her heart racing? Did the blood rush to her face to give her a gentle flush that revealed her embarrassment? Perhaps the girl would swoon and faint in the boy’s arms at any moment? Not really. None of those actually happened. Instead, Akemi ended up staring blankly at him as her smile faded into a confused one. Not because she was ignoring his none to subtle attempt to woo her, but because she wasn’t really sure what he was trying to accomplish.
Though she would never admit it. Akemi had never actually been the center of a boy’s attentions. And if she was…well, it wasn’t for the reasons one would think. So flirting was still a distant thought and she was hard pressed to recognize it. A slight tilt of her head betrayed her innocent confusion. If any of her family were watching, they would more than likely find the sight of the tomboyish girl funny. She begged for attention and to be noticed and yet when this boy made her the center of his charms, Akemi was clueless as to what the hell was going on. At first she didn’t give a response to it because she wasn’t sure of what was going on (she still wasn’t), but now that this happened she was at a loss of what to do. So she winged it. “Yeah…Uh…thanks?” She answered hesitantly.
She was then saved by the call of her sister. “Sake~” Akemi swiftly fled the uncomfortable occurrence. Her mind raced with thoughts. Was he trying to get a discount or something? The all knowing smile her sister gave her as she picked up the sake jug didn’t help her confusion either. It put her on edge actually. It reeked of a trap…perhaps some sort of competition…She’d find out soon enough. So with the sake jar and a cup, Akemi made her way back to the table.

Kaibutsu was confused when he saw her apparent confusion. Was she messing with him? No...that couldn't be it. The confusion was so real, especially when she turned her head. Cute. But definitely a sign of confusion. But...but...how the hell was he supposed to make her fall in love with him if she didn't even know what the hell was going on? His mind started race, trying to find something to say in the now awkward situation.
Luckily, he didn't have to, as Akemi took it upon herself to try to break the silence. "Uh...Yeah! No problem!" It was then that a woman yelled out "Sake~" and Akemi quickly retreated, leaving Kaibutsu to his thoughts. Never before had he met a girl so...disinterested in flirting. Or more like one who seemed to have no idea how to do so. He voiced his thoughts in three simple words. "What the hell?"
Hopefully his words had been too low for Akemi to hear, but in the restaurant with barely any people he wasn't completely sure. He put his mask on the table, tracing the red pattern, before he caught something out of the corner of his eye. Turning, the red haired boy (man in his own mind) noticed that it was another brush. He turned to look at Akemi, and decided that since flirting wasn't working, maybe simply being nice would? He had seen it work before, he had just never done it himself. The charm had always worked before.
Getting up quickly, he grabbed the brush from it's resting place in the corner. Returning to his seat, he looked to the young girl as she brought him his first ever sake. Giving her a small smile as she got close, he held the brush out.
"I found this in the corner, so I decided to grab it. You wouldn't happen to have been looking for it, would you?" Another smile graced his lips, but this one was slightly different. It was just a true friendly smile. If this didn't work, then by Ryujin he didn't know what would. But if he was taught one thing, it was perseverance.

With the sake jug and cup in one hand, she used the other to slip the brush in her obi. The handle stayed snug against her waist and didn’t fall. But there was still the other that had yet to be found. At least, until the boy presented it to her upon arrival. He found it. The young man seemed nice enough. Was it an act? The sheer teachings to be nice? Akemi didn’t know for certain. There was always the chance that he was just genuinely nice and didn’t want anything. It would be rude for her to just peg him as a swindler or thief so the girl decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
With a small smile, she accepted it and carefully slid it into her obi with its cousin without spilling the sake or dropping anything else. Then she set the cup before pour the boy a cup. She nearly laughed at him. He was so obvious. This was probably the first time he had bought he own drink. Time would tell if this was his first drink in his life. She continued to pour as she began to speak. One should never give newer shin obi sake without giving them the speech about vices. Mother drilled it into her constantly. If she didn’t give them words of wisdom, they could run the risk of becoming an drunkard instead of an accomplished ninja. “Remember the shinobi vices, Gakidou-san,” she spoke softly. Women could be assassins, sake dulled the senses, and tobacco could give away your position. Those were only a few of many as well.
“Please, let me know if you wish for a refill.” She said topping off the saucer like cup. Hopefully, the boy would start off semi-slow instead of diving in. She’d already acquired where his residence was on the registration, but there was a chance he wouldn’t become that far gone. Without further thought, the jar was topped and set off slightly to the side. She would leave it for the first few cups before taking it to monitor his consumption of it. “Your food should be just about finished,” and with that Akemi bowed and made her way back to the counter. She barely realized how nice she sounded. Her own docile tone kind of annoyed her. She was a strong ninja, not a house wife. However, at the same time she wasn’t running the restaurant either and still living with her parents. Many of their rules still applied. And being polite was one of them.

Kaibutsu was thrilled to see that his new tactic was working. Or in the very least was doing better than his previous one. It was an upgrade, in the very least. Instead of the confused look from before, she now wore a small smile, which Kaibutsu couldn't help but admit looked very cute on the short girl.
He watched as the strong beverage was poured into the saucer...cup...thing with great interest. The liquid didn't look like much, but from experiencing others who had drank too much of the stuff, he knew it's looks were deceiving. Whatever, he was sure he could handle it. He was a ninja after all!
When Akemi told him to remember his vices, he merely gave a small smile in return. "Of course, Akemi-chan!" He said with a little bit of excitement. While he usually wasn't one to get excited over something as small as a drink, he couldn't hold it in. He had had small sips before, of course, since some of the ceremonies involving the great Sora no Ryujin required it, but he had never actually had much. He was so excited that he actually forgot about his goal of seducing his current waitress.
He nodded to her as she spoke of a refill and looked up at her when she told him his food would be ready soon. "Thank you very much, Akemi-chan!" He said before raising the drink to eye level to inspect it more closely. By this time Akemi had turned to leave, presumably to fetch his food. He was too focused on the drink to notice her departure. He thought for a moment, and almost decided that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. While he may of legally been an adult, he knew he was still young. Maybe too young.
He quickly steeled his nerves though, and before he could continue to doubt his current situation, he tipped his head back and down the contents of the saucer in one gulp. The liquid burned...He almost coughed, but he managed to catch himself. He felt his eyes water, and rubbed them to clear the tears forming. "Son of a..." He said in a whisper. The red head definitely hadn't expected...that.
After a few seconds though, he felt a little tingly feeling. Nothing major, but it was there, tickling the back of his brain. It felt pretty good. He looked to the side, and saw the filling cup. Maybe a few more saucers wouldn't hurt. He grabbed the cup and filled his saucer once again. Before downing it though, he raised it into the air, in a sort of mock toast. "To you, Sora no Ryujin!" He leaned his head back and once again the saucer was empty. The tingly feeling intensified within seconds.

Akemi noticed the additional suffix the boy had taken upon himself to add to her name, but she let it go. Normally, she would have thought nothing of it. Why? Because many thought to give her such an addition to her name would yield a laugh. So long as they didn’t take it to far she wouldn’t heed them as they were usually too drunk to know better. The aged also used it, which she never minded at all as it sounded nice from their gentle tones. One old lady, a spitfire of a woman, often came for a small breakfast and would note that Akemi was growing into a fine young lady. However, the additional suffix from the boy seemed to hold a different meaning. Not degrading or mocking, just there with a bit of lighthearted enthusiasm.
The place had acquired no new guests yet and a couple of the ones from earlier were finishing meals. Akemi sidetracked herself on the walk to get Kaibutsu’s food and collected their tips, some more generous than others. They would pay as well, but her brother was at the payment desk so she didn’t have to worry about it. But in being sidetracked, she didn’t notice that Kaibutsu had gone ahead and began indulging himself. So it would be a funny surprise when she began her return, food in hand, to see the boy giving a toast to something only he could see. The laugh nearly escaped her lips, but she bit her tongue and kept her small smile.
Akemi could already see possible destinations that he was soon to arrive at. She set the tray down on a different table and transferred the meal to Kaibutsu’s. A large bowl of ramen and the traditional sides with a pair of chopsticks set next to them. An even funnier thought occurred when she saw that he might have a bit of trouble with the chopsticks. She doubted that he was that drunk (she wagered he was just beginning to feel the buzz of alcohol enter his system). Another glance revealed that no other customers needed to be tended to so Akemi sat at the table next to Kaibutsu’s.
“Sora no Ryujin? What’s that?” She asked curiously, having heard it only moments before.

Kaibutsu watched as Akemi returned with his food, and he gave her a large smile. He was hungry. Very hungry. And her returning with his food on a tray like some sort of food delivering goddess made his smile slightly perverted, though not enough to be obvious. Already the alcohol was inhibiting some of his more common senses. It appeared Kaibutsu was a light-weight, even for a guy of his size.
"Ah, Akemi-chan. Thank you so much." He said as his food was put onto the table in front of him. Once the chopsticks were laid down, he took an experimental bite of the food. It tasted really, really good. "Compliments to the chef." He said after swallowing the bite, his eyes wide at the heavenly taste. Why wasn't this place swamped with people? They had to be CRAZY!
At Akemi's question, he let out a small gasp, thoughts of food thrown from his head. "You...don't know who the Sora no Ryujin?" He asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice. Really, he shouldn't of been surprised, since the following of his god wasn't very large, and the people who knew of the god outside of his religion was ever fewer. But having grown up listening to the stories of the great dragon had made him think everyone knew of him.
So Kaibutsu took it upon himself to educate the young woman. "The Sora no Ryujin is the great dragon god of the seas and skies. Many people think the Shinigami is responsible for the transportation of those deceased to their proper place, whether it be Tengoku or Jingoku. This is not true. It is the Great Ryujin who ferries souls to their rightful places. He has never been seen by any other soul than the Great Kami, though from ancient times people in our religion have consulted with the Great Kami, so we have a general idea of his appearance." He finished his lecture with a nod, thinking he had properly educated her on his and his familys personal following. There was much more to know about the great Ryujin, but that was only for his followers.
He turned and took another bite, again thinking about how good it was. This was quite possibly the best ramen he had ever had. He picked up the saucer, which he had refilled before she had arrived, and leaned his head back once more to let the drink slide its way down his throat. "Man, todays a good day!"

Akemi let out an amused laugh when he thanked her so enthusiastically. It was like he was praising her for bringing the food. The notion that this was his first real time drinking was solidified as truth. Or he was just a complete and utter feather weight. Not that being unable to hold one’s liquor was anything to be ashamed of. She had seen men older than him take a sip of sake and fall flat on their back…well, maybe it was just that one guy a while back. Nonetheless, she had still seen it.
The young girl nodded idly at his compliments on the cooking. Though his gasp drew her full attention. “Is the Sora no Ryujin thing that important?” She couldn’t recall ever hearing of something with that title. She fidgeted slightly becoming uncomfortable. Was she suppose to know of it? She didn’t like being seen as dumb, but she didn’t want to act like she knew of things she didn’t have a clue about either. The girl did her best to ignore her slight embarrassment over not knowing and listened intently to the boy’s explanation. The realization began to dawn on her. It was one of those family things. She became sure of it as he continued.
She pulled a chopstick out and twirled it between her fingers (her mom didn’t like when she played with weapons in front of the customers unless it was for a show) as he finished his tale. It was pretty interesting, she’d admit. Though her attention was diverted slightly by the way he downed another cup. Eh, she wasn’t his mother. “He sounds pretty cool, does he do anything else?” She asked, curiosity getting the best of her as she leaned forward in her chair slightly. Stories were always fun to hear during work. The fox mask that hung around her neck shifted and fell forward causing her to lean back again and adjust it to where it was back in its previous position.
Akemi then propped her feet up on the table and leaned back in her chair since no one was coming in and she wanted to be a bit more comfy, only for the brushes to jab her. She winced and looked down. The girl had forgot about those. Akemi set the chopstick aside and pulled them from her obi while still in her reclined position. With only a bored glance at the storage closet, they were sent flying. One left each hand, spiraling in a drilling fashion where the hit the wall and fell into an empty bucket that was inside. She was intentionally being a show off, but Akemi didn’t really care. She prided her abilities and liked to flaunt them while getting in the occasional practice in.

Kaibutsu was glad that Akemi was in the very least interested in the Great Ryujin. If she had not been, he would of likely been quite angry. But interest was the best he suspected he was gonna get, so he decided that was fine. One day he was sure she would learn that Ryujin was the greatest, as he had.
"Yes, he does much, much more, but at this point I am not allowed to divulge such information. If you really wanted to know, you could ask my mom." Since Kaibutsu was so young, he was not really allowed to tell much about his religion or his god. It was not because of any hierarchy or anything, but simply because most didn't believe that children could properly tell the tales of the Great Ryujin. Kaibutsu held to this rule, if only not to incur the wrath of his mother.
Seeing the mask he had not seen earlier (man, he really needed to be more observant) his eyes focused on it for a second. His vision was starting to become a little hazy, though nothing serious. It took him a second to make out which animal it was, but he was able to make out that it was a fox. "Hey, you got a mask! Like me!" He said as he grabbed it from the table, holding it up a little so she could see it. He set it down though, watching as Akemi flung the brushes with great accuracy towards the closet, actually making her target.
"Great shot!" He said with enthusiasm. It appeared her shot with the chopstick from earlier wasn't a fluke. "You're a ninja too, right?" He already knew the answer, but he was just trying to strike up a conversation. Besides, this alcohol made him a little more talkative than normal. And so far, he enjoyed the short-haired girls company. Something he often didn't, because they would mock him or the Great Ryujin, which would usually escalate into a brawl. Of course he wouldn't want to fight Akemi even if she had mocked Ryujin, simply because he didn't hit girls. At least not for no reason. What? They were ninja, where the women could be quite deadly.

Akemi was expecting the boy to go into some grand telling where this creature did the impossible. Drama, suspense, epic on many different levels! The girl almost fell back and straight out of her chair when she got the actual answer. Not…allowed? Who the hell didn’t allow a frickin’ story to be told!? Akemi felt slightly cheated. And she didn’t really want to go to such lengths as to ask the dude’s mother either. That just seemed nosey and boring. It wasn’t as if she needed to know either, she had just wanted to So Akemi promptly lost interest in it. That coupled with the boy suddenly blurting out that he had a mask changed the topic completely, despite it being completely random. Right then and there most of her ’waitress’ attitude surfaced and she laughed when he had to grab the table to steady himself. She swiftly moved to grab his shoulders and guide him back to his seat.
“Yeah I saw, but you‘re a bit to wobbly to be moving around that fast,” she said with a smile as her laughter faded to a light giggle. Which Akemi would never admit she did. She didn’t giggle. The kid was going fast. Akemi was curious just how light or heavy that sake jug felt right about now. Though, that didn’t stop her from basking in the praise that he offered on her magnificent throw. Nothing like a little bit of flattery. Sure she shouldn’t be cocky and foolish, but a little pride behind her skill would never hurt. And if she was good with anything it was weapons. Ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu might be a little lacking, but give her a weapon and she’d make it just as effective.
The girl nodded at his question of her status as a ninja. For the extra emphasis she adjusted the headband worn around her neck to bring it to attention. She understood his mind would probably be a bit sluggish so she’d humor him a bit. It wasn’t as if she had a reason to spite him after all. And if she did…well, his meal would have already been made as painful for him as possible within the reasonable bounds that she could get away with. Which was actually easier than one might think, but he seemed okay in her book. “Ninja and future weapon master, maybe swordswoman of the mist too,” she said with confidence. Was she fooling herself? Not really as she believed that if she strived for it, those titles would come soon enough with hard work and determination. Even it her hopes were rather high, everyone was allowed to dream right?
