Name: Kakashi Hatake
Alias: Copy Ninja Kakashi, Kakashi of the Sharingan (Sharingan no Kakashi)
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Village: Konohagakure no Sato
Rank: Jounin / Former ANBU Captain
Nature Manipulation:
-Lightning (Natural affinity)
-Earth (Copied)
Appearance:
Height: 181cm
Weight: 67.5kg
Probably the most instantly recognisable thing about Kakashi is his pure white hair, which he wears in a haphazard arrangement of spikes. The colour of his hair is a trait passed down in direct descendants of the Hatake family along with their white coloured chakra for which his father was nicknamed Konoha's White Fang. Kakashi is said to greatly resemble his father and though he shows his face to very few people he has a very narrow jaw and relatively pale skin which accents his hair well. The second most noticable thing about his is of course that he always has the bottom half of his face covered, usually by a black face mask
Kakashi is most often seen wearing fairly standard Jounin attire though he wears fingerless gloves with small steel plates attached, which he has worn since his days as an ANBU operative. Additionally his forehead protector is worn slanted to one side so as to cover his left eye, beneath the headband is his singular Sharingan eye which is complete with 3 tome and continuously active. Across the eye socket is a slender vertical scar from where he lost his own eyes as a boy.
Personality:
Kakashi's personality is very much defined by his experience, often causing him to manifest seemingly contradicting personality traits. The mask concealing his face is not the only one he wears it would seem, as to the world at large he shows a serious and yet somewhat aloof manner which Might Guy refers to as his 'trendy' or 'cool' attitude. Anybody who knows him even remotely well knows that he's actually 'aloof' to the point of being horrendously absent minded, often becoming caught up in his thoughts and forgetting he needs to be somewhere. This is especially true of when he comes to pay respects to his fallen comrades.
Far from being serious and cold Kakashi is actually very personable to those that can get to know him, being surprisingly concerned with the welfare of his comrades and even putting their safety before the completion of a mission. Kakashi is the most loyal of friends and will rarely turn away openly from someone in need particularly if he knows them. That said Kakashi can be a hard person to get close to, there are presently few people he'd venture to call friends but he'll stick by them to the end and he's more or less on good terms with everyone in Konoha anyway. As it stands his largely solitary demeanour and calm attitude facilitate one another making him by and large self-reliant in and out of combat. In that same vein, he is a keen observer and even when it seems as though he isn't paying attention at all he examines everything and everyone around him with a great degree of detail and combined with his wide array of jutsu he is able to stay several steps ahead of an opponent. At the same time he maintains flippant and almost amicable dialogue with an enemy, sounding so calm that he drives most people up the wall. That's not to say he can take on any enemy alone and he's not so proud as to assume so, quite the opposite he is rather humble, making light of his achievements as well as never turning down a helping hand when its obviously needed.
To a certain extent Kakashi is apprehensive about responsibility, which is part of the reason for his insistence on teamwork, fearing that if he is put in charge he might get someone else killed but it is a fear which he has been able to master to an extent.
As previously mentioned Kakashi isn't all seriousness, there is one thing and one thing only which can shatter his mask of neutrality and that something is the most fantastic, stupendous, brilliant and seminal Icha Icha series... what? Like your hobbies are any better?

History: Kakashi was born to the legendary hero of the Third Shinobi War, Sakumo Hatake also know as Konoha's White Fang, as such from his young days he had much to live up to. Live up he did, despite losing his mother at a very young age Kakashi showed great skill as an Academy Student, graduating at age 5 and becoming a Chuunin at 6. His success though was twinged by bitterness as his father committed suicide shortly after being disgraced by failing a mission while trying to save his comrades. This prompted Kakashi to live his life completely by the laws of the shinobi and was probably the root of his solitude, still too young to be trusted to operate alone he was assigned to a Genin team comprised of a girl named Rin and another boy of the Uchiha Clan named Obito under the future Yondaime Hokage Minato Namikaze, needless to say him and his team mates didn't exactly mesh well. In particular his relationship with Obito Uchiha was a rough equivalent of that between his future students Naruto and Sasuke, more than once Minato would have to step in to stop them murdering one another.
Kakashi remained distant until their last mission as Team Minato, not a particularly complicated mission, or at least it shouldn't have been until Rin was kidnapped, the tensions between Obito and Kakashi showed themselves again as they argued over whether to go after Rin or forge ahead with the mission. As they parted Obito happened to mention that he believed the White Fang to be a true hero and as Kakashi reflected on this he turned back to join the rescue effort. He arrived just in time to save Obito from one of the Iwagakure shinobi who had taken Rin, but even fighting him two on one Kakashi's left eye was scarred and ruined as he tried to shield his team mate. His solemn wish to defend his injured friend saw Obito finally awaken his Sharingan which allowed him to defeat the attacking shinobi and after bandaging Kakashi's eyes the two were able to move forward.
Coming to the cave where Rin was being held Kakashi and Obito engaged the remaining ninja and managed to recover their team mate before the defeated shinobi used a Doton jutsu to cause a cave in. In a last act of incredible bravery Obito saved Kakashi from a falling boulder, sacrificing his own body to save his friend. Knowing that he was about to die Obito had Rin implant his Sharingan into Kakashi's ruined eye socket and in doing so said that he would 'see the future.' With his new eye Kakashi engaged the still persistent Rock-nin and managed to defeat him by using the Chidori in conjunction with his Sharingan eye. On the verge of passing out Kakashi briefly engaged the reinforcements which had arrived and threw the special kunai which Minato had given him upon his ascension to Jounin.
The kunai alerted Minato to his students distress and as Kakshi passed out Minato sped towards the area to save them, as Kakashi awoke his sensei apologized for not being in time to save the whole group and after mourning their loss the team continued on to demolish the bridge. Because of Obito's gift Kakashi carved out a name for himself in the latter parts of the Third Great Shinobi War and became infamous the world over as Copy Ninja Kakashi. Soon after Kakashi became an ANBU and operated thusly for years until the ninja world acquired the shaky peace which it now occupies.
As a Jounin Kakashi became known as a man of high standards because he never once cleared a Team which was assigned to him and always sent them back to the Academy, the real reason though was not to do with standards but the fact that none had exhibited the synergy and teamwork he believed to be an integral part of the ninja life following Obito's sacrifice. It was not until he was assigned to Team 7 comprised of Naruto Uzumaki, Haruno Sakura and Sasuke Uchiha that he really thought he had a team worth taking on.

Quiet. It was so quiet, as if the entire world had been frozen in a single moment and in that moment the Uchiha line had been cut short. Kakashi looked down on the silent streets and sighed, he had not believed the initial reports but now that he was out in the thick of the desolation he could better understand the situation. Every now and then one of Konoha's ANBU would flicker into view at his left and report another stream of casualties, the one sitting at his right would then record those who were accounted for and as it stood there were only four who were not. A soft swish resounded to Kakashi's side, he didn't look up to see who it was.
'Senpai?' a familiar voice said, recognising that the team leader was lost in thought, only then did Kakashi turn his head towards him. 'Updated report, Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha have been found, as with the others they were dead when we arrived.'
Kakashi looked away again. 'Of course they were,' he said somewhat bitterly, 'does that mean that Itachi is still unaccounted for?' As he turned back towards his subordinate the masked ANBU merely nodded. Kakashi's head drooped, if they could just know that one, just one person had survived then that would perhaps lessen such a blow. What a disaster... 'Keep looking... and Tenzo, take your mask off. No point in hiding your face from the dead. Kakashi looked back to the streets but before he could fall back into reflection and analysis all three of them were jarred into alertness by frenzied shouting. Looking back at his subordinates Kakashi gave a simple nod and all three of them vanished to reappear at the source of the commotion. Something about Fugaku's son... Kakashi's lone eye widened.
One of his ANBU was kneeling beside the small figure, cradling his head in one arm as he waved a hand in front of his staring eyes, which appeared to be bolted straight ahead. He's not conscious, but his eyes! They look... look like he's screaming... what in the world did he see?
'Quit messing around and get him to a medical facility.' Kakashi ordered, only slightly raising his voice, but it was enough to send the ANBU scattering. 'And find Itachi.'
What the hell does this all mean?
