Hello. My name is Tetsuya Temujin. I became a Pokemon trainer at fourteen years old. I started in the Johto region, and I didn't live in Newbark Town, so Professor Elm didn't give me any starter Pokemon. I bummed an Umbreon off of my uncle, and with that, I took on the Gym Leader Challenge. I won't lie to you, I'm a damn good trainer. I got all 8 badges with my team of Pokemon. I went to take on the Elite Four, but I got knocked out by some punk kid calling himself Gold. I didn't make it very far, and nobody in Johto really cares who I am. It is five years later, and with that loss still beating in my heart, I made a decision. I decided to pack up and move. I wanted to journey to the neighboring region, start fresh in Kanto, and make a name for myself. So one day, I saddled up my Pidgeot, and travelled to my new home in Pallet Town.
Pallet Town is the very definition of town. It has only two houses and three buildings in total. This third building, however, is one of the greatest facilities on Earth. This building is the laboratory of Professor Oak. I contacted him on my Pokegear shortly before I left. He promised me that by the time I had moved into the house next to his, he would have a Pokemon for me. Make no mistake, I love my own Pokemon dearly. Despite that, part of this new beginning is grabbing a new Pokemon. Besides, where's the challenge in sweeping the gyms with my Pokemon that have already defeated the Gym Leaders of the Johto region? I landed in Pallet Town late at night. Apparently my new house used to belong to the great ex-champion of the Kanto league, Red. Eight years after his victory at Indigo Plateau and people still speak his name with glory. Though typically I would start my adventure right away, I want nothing more than to sleep. The house is not as small as one may assume from a small town. It is two stories with three bedrooms. I feel a bit bad as I reach into my pocket for a cigarette. Oh yeah, I smoke. Didn't think it was relevant to the narrative until now. Why do I smoke? I think it makes me look cool. Still, I feel bad, because I know once the smell sets in, it won't come out for whoever buys this place after I go.
The night's sleep before beginning an adventure is amazing. I roll out of bed at noon to the sound of my Pokegear. The professor wants me to come and meet my new Pokemon so that I may begin the Gym Leader Challenge: Kanto edition. He rambles on about Red and his grandson, unimaginatively named Blue, before I rush him off of the phone. After a long shower, I survey the items I'm going to begin with. I have a bundle of Pokeballs, but I won't be using them immediately. Small towns like this usually only have weaker Pokemon surrounding them, like the Rattata and Sentret that plague Newbark Town. I don't do weaker mon. I also have a Potion, two Full Heals, and a ragtag of other items I collected through my journey to Johto. I pack all of these things clumsily into my backpack and sling it over my shoulder. I'll never forget how I look on this day. I'm wearing a black t-shirt with a bright red fireball on the center. Naturally, as Fire is my favorite type of Pokemon. A longcoat drapes my entire body. I realize that part of the Kanto League involves me visiting a volcano to face Blaine. I don't care. I'm only wearing jeans. They're black to match my shirt, but there isn't anything fancy about them. I used to wear a hat, when I was younger, by my hair is so long that I would simply look foolish. Not to mention I'm an adult. Still, I wish perhaps I could still wear a hat to hide my long black hair. It's clear that I don't take care of it very often. It's also clear that I don't care what you think. Green eyes, 5'11", 19 years old, black hair, black attire, no Pokemon. This is the makings of a classic adventure.
