Tokage sat in the mess hall alone, his tongue flicking around anxiously. He felt alone and oddly out of place. Everyone in the mess hall (and there were only a handful) looked like bonified ninja, chunin or higher at least. Faces covered, armed to the teeth, and intimidating. They were all Sound Ninja, something he had yet to achieve, at least to himself. And here HE was, sitting around, green hair spiked, constantly looking around, tongue flicking, probably looking like a mental case. He didn't belong here. But this is where Master Orochimaru said to go if he were either hungry or had some free time.
'Dammit. Why do I have to get stuck with "new kid syndrome" HERE? Among all of these ninja. This ain't the right place to go soft. For fuck's sake, I survived for two years by myself, going invisible and stealing from people. And I choke up here, where it matters most? What the HELL is wrong with me?" Tokage thought to himself. 'Well shit, if I can't BE calm, I'm just gonna have to look it'. He slid on his mask of complete and utter calm. He still couldn't keep from looking around and flicking the tongue, but he at least looked a little less frantic.
He wasn't really hungry, but he needed to eat. He looked to the plate in front of him. 'Eeeeeeeeh. Mystery meat and a salad. Not what I'd PREFER, but it'll have to do.' he thought as he scooped up his food and had day dreams of the crunchy, salty-sweet taste of his favorite beetle. 'Damn. If only I had thought to bring my travel size capsule of my favorite bugs. Then I could just pour it over the food and it wouldn't suck so bad'. He started getting lost in his own thoughts. Well, at least he wasn't worrying about being the nooby on the block, right? He hoped and wished that he had some company, but whatever, alone works.

Kiri didn't like this place. Sure, the few people that were here were all shinobi of the Hidden Sound, just like herself. And most of them had a general idea of who she was, so most of them wouldn't mess with her. But it still made her uneasy. Her delicate appearance made her look like easy prey, despite the fact it as slightly deceiving.
More of that whole thing about Leaf-softness. Even though she had not heard about that from anyone ever since Lord Orochimaru had started training her, she still was pretty sure they thought that way of her.
Retrieving her food, Kiri slipped between the tables of the small mix of shinobi and kunoichi alike, glancing from table to table for a spot that didn't seem to open her up to anyone. A few various ninja gave her skeptical looks and she did her best not to wilt. She needed to keep up a strong appearance. For the sake of Lord Orochimaru's reputation, if not her own.
She did finally spot a single place with only one other person. A boy with green spiked hair, flicking his forked tongue out from time to time. She cringed internally, but it was better than her other choices.
Hesitantly, she approached the table, expression wary. She didn't sit down immediately though. Her expression sort of asked the question more than her words did.
"Um... don't suppose this spot's open, is it?"

Tokage looked up from his heavy contemplation on his food and beetles to the sound of a voice, and a female one at that. He completely missed what was going on after that point. Because there, standing right in front of him, was this really cute ninja. It took him a minute to process what she'd said.
Inwardly he said to himself 'Wait, she wants to sit by ME. Yeaaaaah! She wants my dick.'
Outwardly, he calmly said "Yeah sure, babe, you can sit here". He then turned back to his food, hoping to play off as the cool guy that didn't care and unknowingly to him, failing.....miserably. His tongue began to flick faster and he began to sweat, betraying his nerves. But in his mind, he was the coolest ninja since the Sage of Six Paths. No women could ever resist his charms, regardless of what little he had.
As Tokage continued to mess around with his food, he peeked up at the girl ninja. She was cute, although she kinda came off an an emotional wreck. Black clothes. JUST black. Black shirt, black pants, black boots. Aside from the white hand wraps, she was a walking mass of black. Still REALLY cute, though.
Tokage continued with his illusions of grandeur as he thought to himself 'I wonder if Orochimaru allows his ninja to "knock boots". I could totally score this piece of ass'.
"Sup, the name's Tokage. You?" he said confidently, introducing himself.

Kiri tried to keep the skepticism out of her face as the kid called her "babe." Already, she was wondering if she had made a mistake talking to his kid. Too late now. She cautiously sat down.
"You can call me Kiri," she spoke, tone calm but with a hint of wariness now. She had already met some rather... interesting people with her sensei. But this kid was toward the top of the "most unique" list already.
Lord Orochimaru's followers were generally experiments in some way or another. Generally with curse marks; something Kiri had been lucky enough to avoid so far. The idea of taking one of those things scared her. Not that she would ever admit it.
She pushed her hair back behind one ear and took a bite of her food, making subtle notes on Tokage as he sat in front of her. She had never seen him before; she was certain of that now. Not in her new home with Lord Orochimaru and not at the academy. So wear did this guy come from?
Only one way to find out. "Are you one of Lord Orochimaru's students? I don't think I've ever seen you before," she commented simply, never fully looking up and meeting Tokage's eyes.

"You can call me Kiri." the girl said.
"Cute name," said the boy, completely mistaking her wariness for her shyness of being around him "it suits you."
Tokage was pretty new to this whole flirting thing. Actually, social interaction whatsoever was a pretty new experience. His general interaction with other people before this was usually him sneaking into peoples' houses and stealing their valuables. 'What's the difference between stealing someone's life savings and stealing a heart?' he thought confidently to himself, 'All I have to do is be sneaky and subtle'.
Tokage watched as the girl pushed her hair behind her ear. The action was kinda cute, but it only added to the shy look, which he only took as her being shy towards him. Tokage thoroughly enjoyed the thought of this girl being shy around him; it made him feel as if he could actually win this girl over. 'I hope she doesn't make this too easy though, I actually like challenges.'
"Are you one of Lord Orochimaru's students? I don't think I've ever seen you before." asked the girl.
Tokage was a little hesitant to answer. What WAS he? What was he doing in this place? Was Orochimaru's student? He wasn't really given something to do, so he guessed he WAS a student.
"Eeeeeh. That's a tough question, I guess. I haven't been given anything to do yet, so I suppose I'll be taken under the creepy dude's tutelage. And yeah, I'm pretty new. He picked me up in one of the small towns after I tried stealin' from 'im."
