Name:
Naruto Uzumaki
Age:
12
Gender:
Male
Village:
Konohagakure
Rank:
Genin
Nature Manipulation:
Wind
Appearance:
If one word could be used to describe Naruto's appearance it would be "Bright". Everything about him seems to stand out in comparison to others...Well, except his height since he's only around four feet and seven inches. However, that's generally ignored by him. Blond hair that shines like sunlight spikes out wildly on his head. In addition to his blue eyes, some may actually mistake him as from the Yamanaka clan. However, his eyes and hair have a distinct shade that sets him apart. A stranger feature would be his birthmarks. Three vertical lines that stretch across each cheek give the impression of him having whiskers. With his habit of squinting his eyes, many are shocked to find he looks similar to a fox would.
He's not bulky, but on the wiry side if a bit lean. It's not very noticeable because he wears a baggy tracksuit all the time. The brightly colored orange jacket and pants draws more attention than his hair would. The blue patches found around the waist and on each shoulder only compliment the orange further. Naruto even put effort into getting blue sandals to match the full effect. Though unseen unless he unzips his jacket, he also wears a blue undershirt underneath it. A few wraps of bandage around his right leg provide a place for his kunai pouch to be. Finally, to complete his look and give undeniable proof of his status as a ninja, he wears his headband proudly around his head where goggles once sat.
Unseen unless both his shirt is off and he is channeling chakra, lies a strange mark upon his stomach. Naruto isn't really sure what it is because it can't be a birthmark. The markings are too intricate for them to be random. However, the boy can't really point out what they really are either. So he merely dismisses it as an oddity like his 'whiskers'. It never occurred to him that the innocent spiral along with those detailed markings surrounding it holds back a beast of destruction.
Personality:
There are those that adhere to tradition and foundation with unerring formality, will, and determination. Then there's Naruto, the black sheep among others. The boy never limits himself to the guidelines of tradition. Naruto charges in headfirst, punches tradition in the face, gets into a brawl with it, and then somehow ends up becoming best friends after...
Figuratively of course...
Still, Naruto stands out in a way that is unique to him and him alone. Perhaps it is a result of people doing their best to ignore him, but try as they might when Naruto wants you to know he's there you know. Whether you like it or not. Exuberant, brash, inattentive, and completely oblivious to things like formality or social standings. The rules of the world are more like guidelines to him. His loud voice is only backed by unwavering confidence because it doesn't need anything else. Though, as loud or obnoxious as he seems to be, proclaiming his eventual place as Hokage, there is rarely any ill will in his mannerisms unless rightfully deserved.
In fact, many will notice that he has a childish simplicity about him if they merely took time to look. Though he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, Naruto is far from being an complete idiot. He's merely a boy that is easily detracted and has boredom as a mind numbing weakness. So he generally performs better at the hands on approach rather than mundane book related lectures, especially when competition is involved. Because Naruto learns through his body, he appears relatively naive to most things (the lack of people experience has a hand here as well) and simple. Concepts, principles, or a situation can be confusing for him unless spelled out simply in big bold letters. However, with his mischievous streak and love for playing pranks, there is no doubt that there is an underlying sly, creative mind to him as well.
Even though childish and being a bit of a pervert he still has a heart of pure gold. Due to the prejudice and loneliness he suffered in his childhood, Naruto developed a craving for acknowledgement. To anyone who gives him a chance he'll do his best to be there for them or help out. This even crosses over to training and fighting. Given the right situation, he can become completely serious. When backed by the unwavering determination, Naruto is a force that one should tread around lightly. He won't back down and will never give up, having the near limitless energy to throw himself at things with true dedication. Most of all, he isn't afraid to accept or ask for help from others. By seeing this, others can be inspired around him and motivated. Whether Naruto realizes it or not, he makes an impact with doing nothing more than being himself.
Yet, despite the somewhat simple and straightforward persona people see even Naruto has a deeper lying complexity. It is hard to see all the suffering within a boy who hides everything beneath goofy antics and a big smile. Having no parents to go home to or ask questions or anything. Being ignored by so many people. There is a deep hurt, hatred, and rage that he hides in his heart so buried that he can't even force himself to admit to it. The pain healed over the years thanks to some, but like a scar it never really faded.

History:
It all started twelve years ago. Naruto seemingly came from nowhere. A birth shouded in mystery, the boy would grow without any knowledge of his parents or what had happened to them. Luckily, he never thought of it as many children had been orphaned. Why you may ask? In a ninja village casualties were a norm. Which was even more common during his upbringing because twelve years ago, at the time of Naruto's birth, an evil monster terrorized Konoha. No ninja could hope to defeat its overwhelming might. Only the Fourth Hokage could contain it, but it cost the man his life. The Hokage sealed it where it could no longer cause any destruction, a newborn baby boy. Naruto himself.
Naruto was the human cage to the ferocious beast, the nine tailed fox. Though he wasn't aware of it because of the Third Hokage's decree for it to never be spoken, those older among him were constantly reminded of the demon that attacked their village without remorse. With nothing other to blame, people ended up resenting Naruto for it. They whispered, glared, and denied him any acknowledgment. The boy should have been a hero for being the one to contain the nine tailed fox, instead he became a pariah. Luckily, the Third Hokage's decree was able to keep this from the ears of children. It allowed for Naruto to at least have a chance of growing without his peers rejecting him completely. However, many children followed their parents' example and rarely gave him a chance despite not knowing why they shouldn't.
Though unfair, there were still those who treated Naruto with the respect he deserved. Few and far between, they saw passed the fact that he was a jinchuriki and noted the hurting boy begging for attention which made them all the more important. Because of them, Naruto was able to cope with the loneliness to a certain extend. Instead of the more self destructive paths, Naruto merely turned to forcing people to notice him. The boy began pulling pranks just so people could see him. Naruto never gave up hope on being acknowledged as a person, determination and those few who did see him giving him the motivation he needed.
Somewhere down the line, the boy got the idea that the best way for people to acknowledge him would be to become Hokage. They would have to respect his strength. They would have to rely on him, whether they liked it or not. The ninja academy was never the same after he joined. He was a class clown; disrupting lessons, goofing off during training exercises, and creating mockeries of traditional ninja techniques. However, the boy was more of a hands on learner which most teachers didn't care enough to realize. So despite taking things seriously, he still had plenty of trouble working out things. Under the strict, yet fair tutelage of Iruka he did manage to work through some lessons. If not for Iruka, Naruto may have been just a lost cause.
Yet, the chunin was different. He helped Naruto more than nearly anyone and even related to the boy. Sometimes Naruto got the feeling that Iruka didn't like him and was picking on him on purpose, but the man really did seem to have Naruto's best interests at heart. Naruto actually looked forward to Iruka catching him because the man gave him a decent challenge. When the genin exams rolled around and Naruto seemed doomed to remain nothing, another teacher gave him a bonus test. At the time, Naruto thought nothing further. Mizuki had been Iruka's assistant teacher and seemed to have the open compassion that Iruka hid behind stern acceptance.
Naruto's world was turned upside down that night. The premises was simple. Get a specific scroll, learn something from it, then show Iruka. Mizuki wasn't suppose to be a traitor, but he was. Yet, he opened Naruto's eyes to a hidden truth. The reason why he was practically shunned since birth. Things made sense for the first time in his life and he almost accepted him for a monster, but Iruka pulled him from the pits of his own thoughts. That night would forever be remembered, but not for its worst parts. The fact that Iruka stated his belief in Naruto stood out over anything else. With Naruto's use of the Kage Bunshin to beat the snot out of Mizuki as a close second.
After taking his first step into the life as a genin, his adventures on the path to Hokage await.

Still partially within the lull of sleep, neither fully aware nor complete dozing Naruto stood there. With a wide yawn one hand drifted to scratch the back of his head while the other scratched his stomach. He squinted in front of him, where a difficult choice awaited. A choice that would have a resulting effect on the rest of his day. So it was important that he be very careful. It could result in life or death. Miso, Beef, or Chicken Ramen? That was the question.
It was tough no matter how many times he had to make the choice a day. There were ways to push him to a meal quicker, but many had been rendered useless. Unlike most other days, he was stocked evenly all around. Generally, the numbers between flavors fluctuated greatly because Naruto could was a certain flavor for a certain meal. However, somehow the blond boy had managed to keep each of them even. Naruto didn't have a specific urge for one today either. Still, he didn't want to be disappointed or have to change his mind in the middle of preparations.
Then it hit him. Why settle on just one? He was hungry and this was breakfast. Why not go all out. A breakfast worthy of a Hokage! He'd make one of each! The boy could feel his mouth water and sluggishness disappear at the thought. With a clap of his hands he zoomed around the kitchen. Passing the stove with a flick that turned it on. Grabbing three bowls in quick succession before throwing them in a way that left them spinning right next to each other on the table. Then he hummed a little tune as he filled a pot with water.
This was going to be amazing!
