It was a beautiful day in Konohagakure, aka the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The noon sun was shining bright, and there was barely a cloud in the sky. Perfect weather for young shinobi to train.
One such shinobi, a certain Ryo of the Honomoeru clan, sat cross-legged in the middle of one of Konoha's many lush training fields. Meditation was not his strong suit, especially with the way he was taught. To sit still went against his nature. But Aoi said it was good to meditate every once in a while, regardless of who you were. It cleared ones mind, which was helpful regardless of fighting style.
But when one is taught from birth to always be on the move, to do and not think, that made sitting still and clearing the mind quite a chore. Which is why Ryo had been sitting here for about...a good twenty minutes, his face one of concentration, constantly fidgeting.
Finally giving up, Ryo jumped to his feet. Maybe a little taijutsu training would help. Stretching his muscles, Ryo fell into his usual taijutsu kata. Arms held out, hands loose, arms loose. Over all it was a loose stance, meant to flow. Flow from one move into another. Flow around the opponent. Like a raging river. And like a raging river it would sweep an opponent off their feet and drown them. At least that was what Aoi, his mother, had told him. He really hadn't gotten to test it against an actual opponent yet. Understandable, considering the fact that he had just graduated the academy. Him and his team were supposed to meet in a couple of days to get acquainted.
Speaking of team, Ryo was quite glad that his brother, Ryu, was to be on the team. His self-imposed goal would be much harder had that not been so. Luckily, the teachers had seen how well the brothers worked together, so it would of been stupid to separate them at such a point in their careers. He had yet to meet his other teammate or sensei yet, but being the social butterfly he was, he couldn't wait. It was bound to be interesting.
Stopping with just the kata, Ryo suddenly picked up speed, looking as if he was fighting multiple invisible enemies, flowing around them and striking killing blows. After a few minutes of this he suddenly stopped, falling back into the stance that he had started out in. A smile flowed across his face.
"Yeah...I'm good."

Ryu was absorbed in his thoughts of his katas, as usual, as he made his way to the training grounds he and Ryo agreed on meeting at. As he started to make his way through the clearing, he saw his twin already sitting at the grounds, meditating.
'Odd,' he thought with mild interest. 'He's either here early, or I'm late. I suppose my own meditation could have taken longer than I had expected, so I must be late. Odd for him to be sitting so still, though.'
As soon as he spoke the words, he watched his brother leap to his feet and began stretching.
'Well. I knew it wasn't going to stay that way for long' he sighed to himself. Sometimes his brother's energy was just too much for him.
He watched with distaste as Ryo began to go through, what he assumed, was a kata. A very messy, very loose, probably ineffective kata.
'What kind of stance is that?' he asked himself. 'Any enemy could easily disarm him or knock him off his balance when he's standing like that. Really, did Mother not teach him the proper way of fighting at all?'
He began to walk to his brother then, pushing his scrutiny of him and the disrespectful thought of his mother out of his mind. He was thinking on how glad he was his brother had been put on his team, even if he was a giant, energetic goofball. He wouldn't have to be completely alone in his new team, surrounded by people he cared nothing for. He contemplated the reasoning for this. The teachers saw how well they worked together, they must see that splitting them apart would rid the ninja world of an amazing duo. He could see the logic in it.
As he came closer, Ryo switched up, pretending to be fighting what seemed to be a team of enemy ninja. If he were that kind of person, Ryu would have rolled his eyes at how absolutely ridiculous he looked doing it. Ryo was finishing he mock fight as Ryu approached.
"Yeah. I'm good" he over-heard his brother say.
"In what world does beating an army of invisible foes whilst in an extremely horrible stance constitute 'good', brother?" Ryu asked, voice devoid of any real emotion.
"We're here to spar, correct?" he inquired. "What are the rules of engagement in this case?" He said as he spun his katana in anticipation.

"In what world does beating an army of invisible foes whilst in an extremely horrible stance constitute 'good', brother?"
Ryo spun to look at his brother. He knew it was Ryu simply because of his emotionless voice. Something his brother had had since very young. An aspect gained from their father.
"My world, bro, and to me, thats really all that matters." Ryo said in a smug tone, which was immediately followed by laughter. He knew his response would likely not garner any sort of emotion from his brother, but he tried, regardless. Eventually he would break through. That was his solemn goal. To bring his brother out of the pits their father had flung him into.
"We're here to spar, correct? What are the rules of engagement in this case?"
"Rules? Hmmm. No jutsu I guess, hehe. Weapons and taijutsu only. No Kokoro shit, either. We don't wanna kill each other. That could be bad." Ryo replied thoughtfully, his hand holding his chin in some sort of thinking-man pose. "Other than that, nothing really. So....GO!"
With that, Ryo jumped away from his brother landing about fifteen feet away. The wires rolled from one sleeve into his hand. They flowed through the air, already trying to grab Ryu a mere few seconds after Ryo yelled go and basically sneak attacked him.
In his other hand, Ryo pulled some smokebombs from his kunai pouch, throwing them to the ground and covering about a five foot radius in smoke. Withing a second he was rushing from the smoke, kunai in hand, ready to slice his brother's jugular. Yep. When Ryo fought, he was vicious. Didn't matter who you were.
Before he was upon his brother though, he threw the kunai and ducked to the right, his wires going to the left, attempting to capture his brother within them.

Ryu watched his brother jump as he spoke. He supposed that some would find it amusing to startle others. He found it quite annoying that his brother couldn't be vigilant enough to notice his approach. It's not like he was trying to be quiet.
"My world, bro, and to me, thats really all that matters.". Ryu was slightly annoyed at being called "bro". He hated the nickname and wished his brother wouldn't insist on calling him by it. But his annoyance abated to dull pleasure as he watched his brother give his signature whole-hearted chuckle. It was good to see his brother so care free.
"Rules? Hmmm. No jutsu I guess, hehe. Weapons and taijutsu only. No Kokoro shit, either. We don't wanna kill each other. That could be bad.". He nodded to agree to these terms. Using the Kekkei Genkai in any situation that you don't want to result in death was dangerous. Besides, neither of them really knew how to control it very well.
He watched his brother switch poses to appear to be thinking, but saw the muscles in his legs tense up and prepared for the oncoming attack.
"Other than that, nothing really. So....GO!"
As soon as his brother jumped backwards, he readied his kunai. He'll probably try to rush me and use his wires against me. My kunai won't do anything against them, so I'll have to avoid them.
As expected, his brother was rushing him, emerging from the smoke. He put himself quickly into his state of zen and watched as the world around him slowed down. He saw the kunai emerge from the smoke and the small glint of the wires to his left through the smoke.
He quickly parried the thrown kunai with his own and jumped in the air, sliding his katana out from he sheath and preparing for any oncoming attacks.
"How predictably unpredictable," he said, making his voice louder to be heard as he went higher. "I wonder what's coming out of your bag of tricks next?"

Ryo forced himself to a stop, his mind going a mile a minute as the world around him seemed to zoom by. He called this the Rush. Everything seemed to speed up. Especially him. A battle high, as it were.
As he stopped himself, his eyes locked on the form of his brother. A smile was spread across his face, showing his teeth. Hearing his brother speak, Ryo forced his other hand forward, the wire rolling from underneath his warmer directly onto his palm. These wires soon joined the others, all directing themselves at Ryu. Truthfully he was surprised his analytical brother took to the air. A ninja was most defenseless when off the ground.
"Who knows? NOT ME!" As his wires continued their ascent towards his brother, Ryo laughed. It wasn't unpredictable if he knew what he was doing next now was it?
At the last second before the wires could reach his brother, Ryo pulled them back as quickly as he could. As they came back to his hands, Ryo pulled multiple shuriken from his holster, throwing them at not only where his brother was but also where he was thinking his brother would attempted to dodge his wires at. As soon as the shuriken left his hand, Ryo also jumped into the air, throwing his wires once again at his brother, attempting to snare him and end this little spar.

Ryu knew that taking to the air was a bad idea, but he also knew that his brother loved to rush. If he came up to him, he might be able to get an opening on him. While his wires were a nuisance, he was sure he could deflect them with his katana. Ryu saw the wires coming at him and prepared himself to try to escape the clutches of his brother's wires when Ryo pulled them back.
'Damn you and your odd fighting stlye, Ryo' he thought, actually frustrated.
Then he saw that his brother had thrown a few shuriken at him. He rolled over, midair, gracefully putting the tip of his katana through the hole in the middle of the stars and narrowly dodging the others his brother had thown, and continuing his roll, flicking them off the tip of his sword back at his brother. And then Ryo jumped to meet him in the air. Of course he had to jump after he had launched his counter-attack.
Ryu prepared himself for the next attack, planning on his next move. It was going to take a very precise movement, and was going to be very dangerous. But why not try to fight his brother with his own dose of unpredictability. As the wires grew closer, he flipped backwards and grabbed onto them. As dangerous as this was, it could give him an opportunity to attack his brother when he pulled them back in.
Ryu started his course back to the earth, dragging his brother along with him

Ryo's eyes widened slightly as one of his own shuriken flew back at him, flicked from his brothers sword. Needless to say it was a great tactic, but a surprising one. Twisting his body slighty, the shuriken whizzed by, leaving a small tear in his clothing, but not hitting the skin underneath. A close one. As he grew closer to his brother, he was again surprised to see his brother actually grab onto his wires. And he knew his brother. His brother didn't do something unless he had a plan. At least most of the time.
As he started to descend to the ground with Ryu, he twisted his wrist in fingers in a certain fashion. If his brother were to be caught unaware, the wires would wrap around his arms, forcing them together. He would then force his brother to him, wrapping the wires around his brothers body. At that point, he would win this little spar. Once you were ensnared in Ryo's wires, there was no getting out. At least in his own mind...
It was odd though. His brother was being slightly, different. He had started using tactics he didn't normally use. Being...unpredictable. Probably something he pick up from Ryo himself. Damn. That would mean Ryo would probably start picking up some of his brothers strategy. It would probably make them better ninja's in the future, but being only twelve, that wasn't what Ryo was thinking. He merely thought that that would make him more like his brother. A shell.

Ryu expected his brother to move out of the way as his own shuriken flew back at him. He wasn't expecting to actually manage to get as close as he did. Ryo must be off his game today; he was moving a little slowly. And then Ryu saw the wires come close to his arms.
Ryu saw his brother's fingers move and managed to move his right wrist up at the last second, taking his katana with him. But his left wrist was caught in the wire and that arm was then bound to him as the wire wrapped around his body. This is it. This is where he implements his plan.
It was nice to see the surprise on his brother's face at how much like himself Ryu was being. Completely unpredictable, with no real clear plan of action being thought out. Little did his brother know that most of his "unpredictable" actions were really planned out. Mostly they were done at last moment and then a plan was made to work with them, but still, a plan had been made.
Ryu felt his body being pulled towards his brother. He knew he couldn't WIN this bout. There was just no way. He and his brother were on an equal terms while fighting. Ryo's unpredictable use of his wires and Ryu's use of precise movements clashed too much. There was no way to win. But a draw could be reached. And that was exactly what Ryu was going to do.
Ryu put his katana out on front of him around his shoulder level as he was drawn closer to his brother. Finally, they were face to face. Ryo's wires crushing his body. If his brother had wanted, he could easily break most of his ribs. But Ryu's sword was against his brother's neck, nearly drawing blood. A stalemate had been reached.
"Well brother, we seem to have come to an impasse. That fight was well done. Shall we go? We have somewhere we need to be soon". Ryu checked the position of the sun. They'd need to go meet their new team in a few minutes.

When his brother had been ensnared, a smile crossed Ryo's face. Damn it felt good to win. Through all the years of him and his brother sparring, neither had ever bested the other. It always ended in a draw. A stalemate. Or something happened that forced them to stop. So to finally see what looked like a winning move play out, he couldn't help the excitement he felt.
His brother flew towards him, but once he was just in front of him, and Ryo almost gloated about his newfound victory, he felt the cold steel touching his neck. Damn it all. Another stalement. Right when he had almost won, too. The smile fell from his face at his lost victory. But it should of been expected. This happened a lot, actually. One of them seemed to have won the fight, and then, right there at the end, were it a true fight, they would of just managed to kill each other. Was the way of the twins.
When his brother finished speaking, the smile returned to his face. They finally got to meet their sensei and other teammate today. Oh joyous day. The road of the ninja was finally here! And Ryo would strive to be one of the best. The elite. But first, before his glory days, he would have to make it through genin.
Letting his wires go slack and rolling them back up, he returned them to his sleeves. "Yup. Feels good, don't it brother? To finally be a ninja? I mean, no more academy, no more boring ass teachers, no more-" And thats how it would be the entire walk to meet their team.
(Alright Renji, threads done. If you would kindly move it to the archives, that would be greatly appreciated.)
