Name: Hinode Yuuyake
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Village: Kirigakure
Rank: Jounin
Nature Manipulation: Water, Fire
Appearance: Hinode comes off as a sort of scrawny man, tall, but scrawny. He stands around six feet tall, and weighs around 140 pounds. Not a man you would hesitate to pick a fight with in a bar, and it does bother him a bit, though, he knows his strength, and if you pick a fight with him, so will you. He doesn't care much, though, about his size. He knows he has more than adequate power, and his small weight enables easier and faster movement.
His muscles are slightly toned looking, but if he flexes them, you see what he's really made of. A four pack sits below some modest pectorals, and his biceps and triceps are moderately toned as well. His legs are probably the most muscular part of his body, due to his constant emphasis on speed.
He is typically found wearing his standard issued jounin uniform. A loose fitting long sleeved shirt and pair of plain dark blue pants worn underneath a typical body armor consisting of a small cuirass with slightly larger than normal pauldrons and a padded collar. His kirigakure headband adorns his short chestnut hair, and partially frames his azure eyes along with his short, but unkempt beard that can be seen on him at all times. He also keeps a pair of leather gloves on, another oddity to the uniform.
Personality:
The death of his father and his poor upbringing pained Hinode to no end, to constantly seek more strength. Strength to obtain, and strength to protect. Those he loves, he often treats with bitterness and disdain, in order to distance himself from the emotional weakness. He's not impervious, however, to any sort of emotional contact, he just has a few barriers to be knocked down.
No, the Hinode Yuuyake on the outside is a cool, collected, authoritative man who seems to have a good idea where he's going in life, even when he doesn't. Due to his inner barriers, he's never connected with many on a deep level apart from his family, leaving him devoid of any sort of romantic life, and he keeps some fellow mist ninja in reserve when in need of "friends." But other than that, he looks forward to meeting his new Genin team with optimism. Perhaps he really would help them protect themselves and those around them.

History:
Hinode was born into a poor working family, wearing hand-me-downs, and had a very heartfelt sense of unity within his family. He had two siblings, one younger brother, and one younger sister. Ever since he could work, he did work, and did his siblings after him. They would spend days on end without much of any sort of rest working the rice fields, making just enough to live.
When he wasn't working, he attended the newly-formed ninja academy. Only a few years earlier the demon Zabuza Momochi had slaughtered his entire class, and they finally decided that the practice of the Bloody Mist was too destructive to produce enough bodies to put up a real fighting force. It was a small walk to the academy every day. They lived on the correct side of the village, the treks to the market district to make their rice sales was much, much farther.
It may not have been a luxurious life, but he was happy, and seldom complained. He grew to be nearly a man, around the age of 15 or 16, when his father set off with their only cart to the other side of the village, to trade off the most recent harvest. Hinode had begged to go along, and finally, his father let him, citing that it would be a good experience for him, especially since he'd been so close to passing the chuunin exams the last time, some real world protection service might help him. The wagon trailed along and eventually reached the village, where they were able to sell the rice for a decent profit, and one that they needed.
As the wagon was trundling home, it began to get dark, and about half way home, the sun was finally set. It seemed very peaceful until the wagon hit a rut in the road, popping the wheel out of alignment. They both hopped out of the wagon to check it out, and once they had it fixed, three rogue ninja jumped out of the bushes around the road, knives and swords in hand. They demanded the wagon and the bag of coins around Hinode's father's belt.
Hinode knew that the family needed that money, it was their lifeblood, and therefore they couldn't survive without it, plus he'd taken out this many classmates before. So, without thinking much, he tried to surprise the assailants and attacked them with a kunai he kept on him at all times. Though, it appeared that these bandits were properly trained, probably some of the remnants of the old Mist Village, and Hinode was stabbed twice. The bandits then proceeded to take the money from his father, stab him through the chest, and steal the cart, before riding off down the road. This left Hinode's father dying on the ground, and Hinode critically wounded, so badly that he could hardly move much before he passed out.
Fortunately for him, his younger brother became concerned and walked the mile or so to investigate, and upon finding the gruesome scene, quickly acted to save the wounded Hinode. He was old enough to know his father was beyond saving, though by getting Hinode home in time to treat his wounds, he made a full recovery. Physically at least. From then on, the young Yuuyake felt constantly guilty about not being strong enough to take down their assailants, blaming himself for his father's death.
This drove him into a state of constant focus and training, and eventually develop a jutsu of his own. Finally, at the age of 23, he passed the Jounin exam, and at the next Academy graduation, he would be assigned a team of three Genin to watch over, and more importantly, protect. He would be as cold, and unfriendly as possible to train these Genin to strength, so that they may protect what they need to in life. He wouldn't put them through what he had to go through.
RP Sample:
Maybe they'll all be prodigies that wont need my direction. Hinode actually let out an audible laugh at the thought. Knowing his luck, he'd be put with every no-talent brown-noser that the academy could spit out at him. He performed his walk along the road into the village, just as he did every morning, but this morning was different. At this end of this particular road lay his future. The three Genin he would be assigned to protect and teach. He would be lying if he said that the thought didn't frighten him, but it would never show on his face.
No, the the common passerby, he looked as astute and collected as any other Jounin. It was only his inner-self that was in turmoil. What if they truly were too weak for me to teach them? Or worse, what if it turns out I'm a horrible teacher? The thought actually stopped him in his tracks. It was a mere moment however, before the feet kept on moving. He assured himself that he would not have been promoted to Jounin if the Mizukage didn't feel he was worthy of the title and responsibility.
Still, the doubt lingered, and eventually he dismissed it on the notion that thinking about it would do nothing. Instead his thoughts lead to exactly how the first meeting would go between him and his team. Should he come off as kind and accepting? Or maybe cold and powerful? Friendly? Distanced? It was such a complicated matter, afterall, his first impression would no doubt linger in the minds of the three.
Hrm... not a lot of traffic on the road today... Perhaps even the universe was giving him time with his thoughts. And oddly enough, there was nothing he wanted less. Time to think, and time to reflect was his bitter enemy. It had been there for his father's funeral, and many years after, constantly reminding him of his weakness. It was that day that he swore to himself that he would never be that weak man again. He would grow to be strong, and protect everything that he held dear, and these three genin would come to be included in that ring, whether he made it clear or not.

He typically only summons smaller hawks for messengers and scouts, but he has the ability to summon one of the larger hawks, large enough for a single person to ride on if necessary, though the large hawk still has no fighting capability.
