"This is such a drag.."
The young Nara had been woken up early that particular day. Of course it had been by the yells of his mother. She was always so nitpicky, one thing out of place and she threw a hissy fit. He really didn't understand why his father had married someone like her, but his father had always just given him the same old quote that made no sense about showing a soft side to the person they loved. Shikamaru really didn't get it. He would never understand girls, and personally he didn't really ever want to. He was completely content lounging about staring up at the clouds.
He had of course been forced that morning to help clean the house to a more "neat" fashion. The male not arguing one bit with his mother. Shikamaru had learned to just do what he was told when it came to woman and get out fast when you could. It was exactly what he did. After finishing the few tasks that had been assigned to him he slipped out of the house. He knew his father would probably get onto him later about it, but he knew that was just how Shikamaru was.
The young Nara found his way through Konoha's streets with his hands shoved in his pockets as always. A slight pushed back posture to make him look like he was leaning back instead of forward. He stopped for a moment, his brown hues looking up at the sky above. "I can all ready tell today is going to be troublesome." he said softly before rubbing his right shoulder and returning his hands to his pockets.
He wondered where Chouji was for a moment and debated heading over to the Akimichi clans territory. Though, he knew if he was anywhere near his house and his mother found him it would be bad news. So he continued his steady footsteps heading to the training grounds. He doubted that Chouji would be there. Though, if he knew the Akimichi, eventually he would come looking for him. Or perhaps even Asuma would.
Shikamaru frowned at the thought. He really didn't feel like doing anything at all that morning. He was still exhausted from being woken up early and doing ridiculous things to make his mother happy. Maybe he could find some shelter under a tree in the training grounds for a bit? Yes, that was a good plan as any other. So the Nara found his way into the grounds before looking around.
He really didn't want to be at the entrance of the grounds. That was where most of the ninja's practiced, where the three stumps were near the memorial stone. He didn't want to be near there. So he moved a little further back into the training grounds to a tree hidden by another. It would give him the perfect hide away. People couldn't see him but he could see them. Or at least they could see unless they came close.
Either way.. it was good enough. Shikamaru let his body sink against the tree. The grass beneath him still a bit damp from the dew from the morning. The boy hardly cared ignoring the slight wetness that was now on his pants. He looked back up at the clear sky above him. He wished he was a cloud, just able to float along up there. It would be a lot easier than what he did now. With a soft sigh the nara closed his eyes and tried to get a bit of a nap in before someone decided to come looking for him. Or if someone just so happened to come wandering into his small little hide away.

It was mid-day. And cold. Not the most intelligent observations the genin could've mentally made, but they were certainly accurate. Beyond the coldness, the plain field stretched across the landscape, tapering off into the grassland a of the rivers on the country's outskirts but still surrounded by high-rising hills in all directions, scattered. Beneath the sun, trillions of facets of wet grass glimmering like eyes in the frigid field. Sasuke quickly ran to a near by tree and began to pound on it repeatedly Left. Right. Elbow smash. Uppercut. Roundhouse. Beneath the blizzard of chills coming in, a light-skinned shinobi was busy training his body once again. While this shinobi had long ago acknowledged that his ninjutsu would always be much better than his taijutsu, it only gave this shinobi more incentive to train it and become even stronger. After all, he wanted to become stronger than most in his age class, and if he was going to do this he needed to train on something more than just his ninjutsu alone. "I need to be stronger... for him" Suddenly, he heard the tell-tale sound of cloth whipping in the breeze that wasn't his own. Sasuke stopped and turned to see the shadow user; Shikamaru. Saske had seen him from time to time and see a hist of the powers he could do, but wanted to know more about it. Instead of talking Sasuke wanted to test him he quickly reached into his kunai pouch and spun three kunai around his middle finger before launching them towards the tree the Genin were at. As the wisps thu the air Sasuke watched as the one kunai hit the tree than another they all hit there marks perfect slightly above the user face. Sasuke stood there waiting on the male to make a move. He would see this fight as a real combat training and waited for this.

"What is this guys problem"
Shikamaru hadn't been leaning against the tree for long. He had even started to get a decent nap in before his ears caught onto someone else's movements. It unsettled him a bit. The sound of flesh hitting tree in a fury of either blind rage or that of training. He knew he wasn't going to be getting any sleep with that going on. Didn't mean he was going to get up either. As long as they minded their own business and left the nara alone he really couldn't care less what the other was doing. He wasn't in the least bit curious either. It wasn't in the Nara's particular type of personality.
Shikamaru instead continued to lean against the tree his arms still in his pockets and one leg pulled up close to him contently. He would be just fine with this. In a way the constant beating was rhythmic. He could get use to this. Slowly the steady beats of a hard working shinobi started to become nothing more than the gentle breeze that flickered through the trees. The other wise known as lazy shinobi began to once more fall back into his almost sleeping state. Of course he probably would of fallen completely asleep again, but with someone there, the small bit of ninja in him wouldn't allow him to sleep fully. His mind was still turning and would be ready to make split-second decisions.
It was almost perfect, that was until he could feel a slight shift in the air. He could instantly tell what had once been simple training turn into something more. The nara frowned slightly still keeping his eyes clothes, his jacket making a slight sound due to the wind. He kept quiet listening intently. He didn't know what was going on since he had yet to open his eyes but his body was all ready on edge, despite its still sleep like look. Perhaps that was one of the nara's greatest assets. His opponents never really knew when he was serious or when he wasn't since he always gave off his not really caring attitude.
When he heard the kunai he quickly pinpointed them on sound alone. Another thing that made it rather useful in battle. He really didn't like the idea of them coming right at him. However, on the same note he really wasn't in the mood for a fight. If he had done something wrong, sure he could take being yelled at but being attacked, no, that was not okay. He slid slightly, to almost look like his body had done it in its sleep, just enough for the kunai to hit the tree just above where he had been laying. Finally with a sigh that came from his mouth he sat up and opened one eye then the other.
What he saw did not make things any better. Sasuke Uchiha. Shikamaru would admit he didn't know much about the boy. He did know however that he seemed to be quite the over-worker, the top of their graduating class, himself and a few others on the bottom. He had never really gotten a good feeling from the guy and that feeling only grew worse now. He let his brown eyes flicker to the Uchiha before finally moving his body into a standing position. "Is it a hobby of yours to throw weapons at someone relaxing?" he asked. Though he didn't let anything really show in his voice.
To add to it he yawned a bit taking a hand from his pocket to cover his mouth. It was obvious that Shikamaru wasn't going to attack him back. However, despite his lazy and seemingly unawareness to the Uchiha boy, Shikamaru was prepared in case this got out of hand. He didn't feel like throwing any kunai or anything like that, or even really fighting, but he would at least protect himself if the Uchiha continued his assault against him. To think, all the nara had wanted to do was get a small little bit of peace and relaxation.

Sasuke had watched the kunai make there marks; Sasuke dark eyes watched the boys reaction-rather lazy one,but a reaction at best. He watched the boy stand up and eye him with one eye open. Sasuke listened to the boy before staring at him back "I not sorry, but I was just testing.... and you were a test subject" Sasuke replied before walking towards the Nara boy. Sasuke prediction was correct; the boy was pure naturally lazy. He had also seen this boy in class never one to be the first to volunteer like his friend/rival Naruto. He was a bit of the chill out Ninja's someone Sasuke could maybe use to advantage. As Sasuke began to push off his right foot he began to slowly walk towards the male eyes still locked onto him. Moments later he stopped in front of the male. "So, No hard feelings?" Sasuke said before extended his right hand outward. Still wondering why a lazy ninja like him would be in a training field and not train. Which sparked more thought as Sasuke kept a close eye on his genin couterpart.

"You've got to be kidding me"
The nara really couldn't believe what he was hearing. Did this guy really say what he thought he said? So he bothered his peace and quiet to use him as a test subject? How rude. Shikamaru closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He really didn't like this kid at all. He was just not the type of person for Shikamaru's tastes. To attack someone so easily, especially his own comrades. That was just not called for. Shikamaru didn't really know what to say though. It was really best to keep his mouth shut now wasn't it? He really didn't have anything to say anyway. However when there was a slight noise the Nara opened his eyes again.
Expecting a attack his body moved slightly but instantly calmed down again at the sight of the Uchiha just coming towards him. He really wasn't sure if he liked that idea or not. He watched him out of the corner of his eyes slightly. His eyes seemed to be trained upon the Nara's so there really was no point to look away. He let out a sigh and stretched slightly feeling the air sort of die down. He didn't feel the same feelings he had felt earlier so he let himself relax once more. He placed his hands in his pockets and looked back at the Uchiha as he finally seemed to be upon him.
He really didn't like the closeness and resisted the urge to step back. When he extended his hand outwards he made no move to take it or even accept it. He closed his brown eyes once more. He turned slightly so that he wasn't facing the Uchiha any longer. His hands still in his pockets he looked up at the clouds once more ignoring the Uchiha for a moment. Then he finally looked back at him. "Yeah, Yeah.. I get it." he finally responded. No hard feelings. He really wasn't sure what to take of this kid. Who was he and why did he think it was okay to attack his own?
He slightly wondered exactly what this boy had against him. "You should be careful who you throw your weapons at. Not everyone will simply take it and not fight back." he said letting out another yawn. He wondered slightly what he was going to do now. He was definitely not going back to his nap state. Especially with this Uchiha still around. He only wondered if the kid would leave him alone or if he would continue to bother him. Either way, the Nara really didn't care as long as no kunai were thrown.

Sasuke began to walk towards the village with the boy, thoughts began to run inside of the genin's head. Why was he following him in the first place? He needed to train so one day he could kill HIM with that being said he turned the other way in search for Kakashi someone who would train him fast enough for his final fight. /Exit Sasuke
